NFL Draft: Day 3

Well we’re all but done. Terrific draft. On to UDFA apart from that remaining 7th.

Yep it was a very good draft. While I wasn't a fan of the 5th round and trading out of the 4th they way they did it's fine. I loved rounds 1-4 and that is what I preach. Add in an UDFA that we'll find and this is working out well.

One of the drafts I've felt the best about in a while. TE was left unaddressed but you'd hope they have a plan for that. Still a long way to go till week 1.

They have the 3rd to last pick in the draft left. Might as well trade it in for a happy ending lol too soon?

Don't they have to do a trade with Andy Reid?

Pats have 13 projected picks in 2020. Presumably one or two of them will be used to address holes including TE. May not be used until training camp I guess.

I would. To me those picks are actually negative value. You're better off not having them and getting to negotiate with UDFAs directly. Also you are on the hook for less money IIRC.

I can see all 9 picks making the final roster.

So Danny Shelton or Allen Bailey at backup DT?

I wonder how Ryan Allen feels about us drafting a punter in round 5. LOL.

so now would be great if all of the drafted guys remain healthy during and after camp and preseason (valid also for 2018 draft-class)

Did anyone like the Damien Harris pick?
Sure. RB is always such a violent position. Get guys you can use and assume one of the crew is going to miss some time.

I feel like you can do that way after the 3rd round though, or the scrap heap in FA.

Really like it. Burkhead hasn’t stayed healthy through an entire season since he’s been here and Michel was banged up last year. I just didn’t want one taken early.

There goes my Brady replacement

Bailey booms the ball on kickoffs so there's that and perhaps as a backup for the aging Ghost?

There was an article in the Projo that had the Asst. QB coach raving about Etling and the improvements he was making..I've tried finding it again, but have had no luck..

Either way preseason just became that much more interesting.

Personally at this point I'd rather have a developmental player as the QB 2 than an aging veteran although I do appreciate Hoyer's value to the team.
