Having just had a go at a very early roster to see where gaps might be, I think there are spots available at the back end of the roster at the following spots.

1. QB - could use someone to compete with Hoyer and Etling.
2. WR - could find a slot option to compete with Berrios, Harris and Ellington for that 5th roster spot
3. TE - plenty of bodies here actually and a veteran seems more likely. However could certainly improve if the right guy is available.
4.OL - could see us take a couple of guys to compete for back up slots here.
5. DT - another big body type is needed for the 3 man rotation. Could be a veteran here too.
6.LB - still seems to be room for a depth LB with core special teams ability

I wonder if we chuck a 6th rounder at Minnesota for Rudolph. And then take Stidham, a couple of linemen, Terez Hall and a WR like Nick Easley

This pic is not mine is from Josh Norris. I like the names so i shared with you guys.

I like 23 names from that list and there are other such as David Sills. CB is not a ''need'' for us anymore. I would trade down from 118 for an extra pick. With that pick i would love to:

As a QB or Edelman Swiss army type, e.g. converting to WR???

I'm not enamored with any of the QB's from this draft, from top to bottom of the board. But if I was to choose one now I'd probably take a flier on Gardner Minshew, Nick Fitzgerald or Easton Stick.

S: CGJ, Hooker and Deionte Thompson

LB: Mack Wilson

CB: Julian Love

QB: Jarrett Stidham, Tyree Jackson

DE: Anthony Nelson

I don't know nearly enough about late round prospects but otherwise most have similar values. We should grab Nelson ASAP but otherwise I don't think there is a priority pick for us. Would love to have Julian Love but we have too many CBs.

>>QB: Jarrett Stidham,

I read somewhere that we like him. I have not looked him up yet. Do the Pats like him?

Pats have been pretty decent the last few years getting guys in the 4th

'17- Wise
'16- Mitchell
'15- Mason & Flowers
'14- White & Fleming

TE: Wesco, Moreau, Raymond, Parham, Sweeney, Dillon

WR: Butler, Morgan, Renfrow, Sills, Easley

LB/S/ST: Holcomb, Summers

G/C: Sua Opeta, Ryan Anderson, Ross Piersbacher, Nick Allegretti

DE: Nelson, Phillips, Cominsky

DT: Wren

Good call on Wesco. Forgot about him.

I wonder if we chuck a 6th rounder at Minnesota for Rudolph.
Or give them of the 4th rounders #118 in exchange for Rudolph and one of their 5th rounders #157.
His contract is reasonable at $7 million for one year and would be in keeping w Pats philosophy, keeping the draft picks but swapping it to gain assets. (e.g. Van Noy, T. Brown etc..)
Vikings drafted Irv Smith and I can't see using a 2 TE set....

Jordan Brailford.
Sutton Smith
Brett Rypien
Terry Godwin
Justin Hollins
Remaining from my list of late rounders

Don't understand Hakeem Butler, really liked him the few times I saw him.

As much as I like Moreau in the draft, I really don't think there is a TE left who improves significantly on Izzo, Hollister, LeCosse and Seferian Jenkins. We don't need another depth player, we need a starting level player. Schefter all but said Ben Watson was coming out of retirement to re-sign with us too. I do think Rudolph makes sense.

How I think tomorrow will go draft position wise.

*Trade 118 for a 2020 third
*Draft at 133
*Trade 134 and a 7th for a 5th and a 6th.

Take it to the Bank!!!
Trading a 4 this year for a 3 next year is a great move. It’s trading a 3 for a 4. You don’t lose a year, you delay a year. You get a full contract/career either way.

That said everyone knows this so it’s hard to get someone to make that trade with you.

I agree we will move around and not have a 100 pick gap

I love our special teamers, but you got to think with this many remaining draft picks with players with legit positional talent, that we should look to some picks that can provide positional depth and be potential starters in a couple years (eg Amani Hooker to replace Chung) and hope these guys can do the job on special teams in the interim.
