NFL Draft: Day 2

I don't know about the status of Jeremy Hill or even if he's still a Patriot, but this new kid seems to suit that role.

I think Grier will still be there.
I guess thought is Grier would be better backup than hoyer....??? Surely Grier isn’t the future Heir to Brady

They are morphing into a run first team. RBs take a pounding, Sony’s knee is meh and the league us getting small on D.

All part of Bill zigging when others zag. They must feel very good about Wynn, and right tackles are easier to find.
Ok but the league is going the opposite way so how does that work?

Harris pick might signal that the Pats are committed to a dominant run game.

Injuries tend to shake out RB workload, probably figure Michel is the #1 guy, Harris is #2, and injuries will likely ensure they each get their carries.

Barring that, I'd say he basically replaces Jeremy Hill.

Yep, I remember all the rb's we had going into last season, and still at one point cordarrelle patterson had to be our feature back for a game or 2. its a good pick

Colts still trolling the titans lol.

Wonder what the plan is at DT and TE
Or linebacker for that matter. Hightower is solid, and seems to always play well in big games, but sadly he's a bit injury prone. Van Noy is very good although he's a UFA after this year. Bentley looked promising in the very little action we saw from him, but who knows if he'll get right back on track after that injury. If just 1 of those guys goes down, especially among the first two, they're in trouble.

edit: I missed the Winovich pick. Quick search indicates he can play OLB.

I’d hate to disrespect Da Burkmeister, but...facts are facts.

OK, the Colts deserve a banner for McAfee’s speech

Smaller and same weight.
5' 11", 215 lbs Sony
5′ 10″ 216 Harris

So Harris is thicker.
Thanks, thought Sony was more like 200

Sony will always have knee concerns at a position with high attrition.
With a dozen picks, NE can well afford to fortify areas when value is perceived
And
Brady is old and the game plan may continue to sway more toward a running attack
Especially with only one true QB on the roster

One can argue the pick is something of a luxury but if the Pats are transitioning back to a power run team, I've no issue with a stable of quality backs. Hot hands and keeping guys fresh is paramount.

Also, let's not discount drafting and locking in a player for need when you're not fond of the player. That's bad business.

I see both sides but I’m sure BB has a plan. As for this draft so far I am stoked. The DT needs to be adressed, but holy hell that is one nasty D being upgraded after that SB performance.

DT and TE could be coming in vet trades.

And because we love the draft, we have come to like the many TE's in the draft. Could it be that BB doesn't think any of them are an upgrade over the 6 TE's already on the roster?

The problem with Grier is that he's 24. By the time Brady is done, Grier will be 28 years old.

Irsay must have wrote that Colts intro to their draft selection.

I honestly don't know what to make of Grier. The articles all say the Pats have high interest, but really? Who knows Stidham could be the guy...hell they might not take one.

damien harris??? meh...can find a back later. we need help at LB

same with DT.
