Anyone else think these are the corniest thing in the world?

All of these small groups of fans from each team... You can tell they’re getting paid to be there. Not real fans. They obviously wait to react to each pick once they’re told to do so. Give me a break!

I can't imagine whooping up for any pick like they do. It's all for show. It's whatever. I imagine most fans' reactions are "Ok cool. Let me check YouTube real quick for some highlights of this 7th round projected safety we just took in the 2nd round

Yeah like the the group of Cardinals fans who seem like they are fake cheering and one of them is holding up a 'No1pick' license plate...like that is something to really celebrate

I get it's all about the almighty dollar but the traveling draft is stupid. I loved it at Radio City Music Hall just to see the Jets fans boo whatever nimrod they drafted.

***clowns.

All jumping around in their new gear.

I like the idea of smaller markets getting an opportunity to host it. I think it’s pretty cool how the streets are flooded and I don’t think those people are paid to stand there.

The party around it is pretty cool. It's just the inauthentic groups of fans that just so happen to be right in front of the stage every time some opposing former player starts to rile up their old division rivals.

Pass out some rolls of toilet paper and have them tear it all up!

In the old days ( Radio City Music) in the late 2000s, I went three times with my kids. You had to wait in line for hours to get passes for day one and if you went on Saturday ( it was Fri/Sat and Sun) they gave you passes for the next year. They did that so if they panned the audience on day 2 (Sat) it wasn't empty..
There were always some unique characters, like the two guys in Cowboys complete uniforms, head to toe, that fit them 20 years ago but was 3 sizes too small or the 400 pound beauty in a lime green pant suit who flashed the crowd... Can't unsee that one.......The NFL gave away great swag for attending and the talking heads were approachable at breaks. You found out who was nice and who wasn't. One reporter turned into Linda Blair's The Exorcist when the cameras were off because she didn't get some info she wanted.....pity her significant other....
BIGGEST SHOCK. The TV people had a 30 second heads up on the pick before it was announced.
As in (Cinn drafts TE Joe Blow from USC would appear on their monitor and you'd then hear one of them say, " cinn needs help on the O line, D backs and at TE".. Lo and behold they draft a TE...

Temp employees from Rent A Douche Bag.... same company that staffs the audiences at American Idol and the on field screamers at SB halftime shows.

Just saying

I don't know if I'd call Dallas, Philly and Chicago "small markets". Nashville, yes but it's a great tourist destination even if you're not into Country music...

Nope. NFL offers prime seating to Corporate or Fan Groups that have the money. Though they do look and act like douche bags so I understand your confusion.

The draft was better in New York city where Jets fans would boo Goodell mercilessly because they figure that he is a Patriots enabler and then become unhinged when their 1st round pick was announced. Mark Sanchez!

The main reason I don't watch the draft is Fraudger Goodell. His phony hug and other histrionics turn me right off.

What we need is for one of those hugs to end in a body slam.

yes.....but I will say when they announced N'Keal Harry I was so happy I had slight movement in my mid area :D

They are long-time season ticket holders

They are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
In deference to the convivial atmosphere @Ian strives for here I will not post my thoughts regarding the brie eaters that make up the bulk of the folks in club seating. I will say whenever we used my previous employer's corporate seats our enthusiasm seemed a bit much for the folks around us, yet in our regular section I don't think you could hear us over the other real fans in it.

Yeah, you’re not even close.

I know a girl who went to last year’s draft as one of those “sit up front” people and I talked to her about it. She went with an STHer so rest assured, the people there are authentic, hardcore fans. There was a lot more “floor space” last year. Each team had about 100 people whereas this year it looks like 25 per team.

Nobody got paid although there was some swag (draft cap, signs, beads...). Yes, they were told in advance that they had to wear team gear at the event. Is the enthusiasm a little fake? Well, maybe.... If we’re being honest then I bet once we get outside the top 10, most fans have no idea who most of the draft picks remaining are... but WTF are they supposed to do? Start booing when the team announces a pick? We’re not the Jets.

Do teams set aside a bloc for corporate sponsors and club seats holders? Well, probably.... but I just don’t see it as some sort of incredibly prestigious thing to do (like going to the Super Bowl).... if you’re just a corporate type who is not an enthusiastic fan of the team, is it really something you’d want to travel 1,000 miles to do?
