I think you have misunderstood. Bill often trades into places commensurate with where he has them ranked.

I don't see what the big deal is with saying he was picked a little higher than I rated him.
It’s the idea that there can be such precise differentiation. If the guy’s good mid-second round, he’s good last pick of the first.

Guys that get separation do those things. I’m not saying he won’t be good. He does a lot of good things.

Most of the time yea, although Brandon Cooks is an example of someone who can get separation but unless the ball is thrown with perfect timing and in a perfect spot, he has shown he can’t come down with the contested catches in the biggest games

He’s a guy that can create a ton of separation but embarrassed himself in back to back Super Bowls

Plays, routes, timing, throws etc aren’t always perfect so at the end of the day having a guy that can battle for the ball and come down with it is really valuable

Admittedly I don’t know much about this WR class, but lots of posters know the college scene and feel really good about this guy, so that makes me feel good

I liked what I saw in his highlight reel, just looks like a football player that can battle for 60 minutes and has incredible hands (some of those catches were eye popping). He also can’t be all that slow if they had him on kick and punt returns, and I didn’t see anyone catching him from behind

One of my favorite times of year because it’s lots of new players to be excited about, you just hope they stay healthy and don’t turn into another Aaron Dropson

Lloyd Carr didnt believe in him, 32 NFL teams didnt believe in him when he came back 14-0 vs alabama, they mocked him at combine. He thought he was the best and he almost didnt get drafted, I cut the goat some slack for shedding a tear.

The guy we are talking about has a nickname of Hollywood, is cuzins with the biggest diva in the game, and has known he would be a high pick for months now.

I didn't request a crucifixion for the guy, I just prefer a more composed response similar to Harry's.

These are young men, still adolescent and are experiencing one of the most happy and emotional events of their lives

Will be lots of different opinions about how players react, none of which will be wrong, just different.

A man crying all the time makes him an emotional infant, but a complete man has a full range of emotions and the ability to express them, which includes crying in special circumstances (weddings, death of a friend/family member, getting drafted and having your dream realized, or watching Ned Stark get his head chopped off in Game of Thrones)

If he was crying because he stubbed his toe or the store didn’t have his favorite brand of ice cream... that’s a different story, but it’s ok for men to cry and still be men in appropriate circumstances, imo

Lloyd Carr was caught between Henson, who was the most talented QB in the country, and Brady who played better on the field. If he chose Brady, Henson goes and plays baseball. He was in a difficult situation.

Gee why wouldn't they pick Jones over Haskins??
Haskins... 22-1 record70% completion 174 QB rating 54/9 TD/Int ratio
Jones ....17-19 record 59% completion 122 QB rating 52/29 ratio
Washington has to be the happiest team today and Haskins gets to face them twice a year.......
And I can't wait for Team Manning try to sabotage Jones to prolong Eli's career.....
They said yesterday kyler Murray played with more future nfl players in high school than jones did in college.
Not sure what that means but interesting fact

I like the Harry pick, he was probably the BPA and in an area of great need. Back when they were playing and before the underwear Olympics, Harry was considered the top WR in college football. He is basically a Josh Gordon clone. Plus he played for Herm, so he knows that you play to win the game:D.

Big night tonight, 5 picks to really add some serious talent.

I agree with what you are saying, it's important to show emotion. I'm not suggesting crying is a sign of weakness or unmanly.

I just believe that when you have months to process the fact that you are going to be a high pick I think some of this emotion is showing the world how blessed you are, and thay you are 'all the way up'. I think it can be a sign of emotional immaturity, or it can be genuine. I believe for Hollywood it is the former.

For me personally, I'm more confident getting a young man who walks up in a normal suit, gives a firm handshake with a smile, says a few words in a professional manor, and walks off the stage.

I’m not surprised at all about this pick. I thought we would go heavy on defense early, we’ll, as usual I was completely wrong and am wrong every year on pretty much everything related to the draft. I’ve been watching highlights. This guy can play and he can make contested catches. We need that. I’ll defer to people who actually know weather it’s a good 1st round pick.

Right. Well, he was better then Hanson but wasn't chosen by his coach. I was trying to point out what Brady went through rather then hammer Lloyd Carr.

Reminds me of Jay Cutler, 11-35 at Vanderbilt and they said the same thing.74-79 as a pro....

That last paragraph sounds like it came straight out of the mouth of Hank Hill, not that there's anything wrong with that.

My 2 cents:

Kyler Murray B+

Jonah Williams A+
Rashan Gary A-
Christian Wilkins A+
Chris Lindstrom A-
Dwayne Haskins A+
Brian Burns A
Dexter Lawrence A-
Garrett Bradbury A-
Jeffery Simmons A+
Noah Fant A+
Darnell Savage Jr. B-

Montez Sweat A+
Johnathan Abram A
Jerry Tillery DT A+
L. J. Collier A
Deandre Baker A+
Kaleb McGary A
N'Keal Harry A+

I would give Raiders a B-. They drafted good players but they could have done a better job. Maybe get the same players and more picks.

I don't like GB and Giants draft so far. B for both. Reach for players is never a good idea.

Only thing I don’t like is he should switch his first and last names. My wife and other amateurs are going to annoy me to no end. “Wait, I thought you said his name is Harry. Why did they say N’Keal?” “Are they related?”
His parents could've saved everyone grief by just naming him Neal.

i have seen round 1 now...first of all what a good vision to see a draft in Nasville like this...ton of people...awesome...great !!!

i think that WSH made a good draft...'finding' at 15 and 26 Haskins and Sweat was good and value; compliments

good for Jax and Buf to pick at 7 and 9 two very very good playiers

what about Giants ???

when DEN picked Fant i was very very unhappy honestly...:(

a little bit surprised BB took WR at 1st - at that point i thought CB...

still many good playiers available...let's go Pats...:)

ps = not bad draft seems also for OAK...

I had to google Hank Hill. I was thinking he was going to be a coach from the 20s or something lol
