With BB recently asking in a press conference how you covered big wrs with speed recently, Max Schmeling’s quote “I see something” is coming to mind and making me excited Bill does too!

Or it’s just late and I’m super tired. :)

We may be spreading the field and running against dime.

That was my speculation after Gronk retired. They were so efficient last year with the run game because having Gronk on the field enabled them to switch between run and pass using the same formation without any dropoff in efficiency.

This is where losing Gronk hurts most. Not his catching ability but the fact that opponents were most of the time in suboptimal personnel and there were mismatches available to exploit. Spreading it out with WRs that are fine blockers can produce a similar result even if nobody will be able to give us the same blocking as Gronk did.

Did anyone notice on the NFL Network the war room of the Giants just after they have made the 1st pick, right before it has been announced? The broadcast have moved live over there for a moment and it was just like a fight or serious heated discussion just happened with Gettleman on one side of the room and his staff calming down somebody on the other. Surely there was no fun and celebration after Daniel Jones pick. I have never seen anything like this before, and it seems nobody caught this up in the days when little smirk, while watching the phone, is a national story.

Good write up about the Pats' first-round pick. We need WRs.

In BB I trust.

Go Pats

Waking up...

A WR in the 1st round?

BB is a changed man.

What's the consensus from the board's draftniks?

Yeah, that and the Montez Sweat draft situation were both...strange to say the least.

I'll try to sell you. First, he had back to back 1000+ yard seasons. That bodes well for his success. Second, he did it at 19 and 20. He's one of the youngest receivers in the draft. He wasn't a 23 year old redshirt senior bullying 18 year olds; he's just better than the players his own age. He's a big, physical, talented player who can catch and pick up YAC from the slot or from outside. Based on all the metrics I looked at, he kept standing out. Then you add in his tenacity at shrugging off coverage, running through defenses, and willingness to block, and I thought he was basically a super sized version of Edelman.

Absolutely love it.

If Gronk and Edelman had a baby they'd name it Harry. Haha

SEA traded #21 for:

37 (2nd round)
114 (4th round)
118 (4th round)
132 (4th round)
142 (5th round)

How about we trade:

#56 #64 for #37 (Irv Smith) 118 (4th round) 124 (4th round)

I do not think Irv will last untill pick 56 and i am afraid the other options (Sternberg don't last either)

Or with Rams:

#56 #73 for #45 (Irv Smith) + #94

I don't want Irv Smith.

Tomorrow I would be happy to get

Dre'mont Jones
Mecole Hardman
Not picking on you specifically, but this is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy in the draft. “I like this guy, but ideally we pick him 7 spots later.” Come on.

Well you obviously don't like Bill Belichick as he does this type of thing all the time.

It also makes me think that Josh Gordon is much LESS of a sure thing this season than I thought

I don’t think anyone should consider Gordon a sure thing, I’m sure the Pats don’t.

Huh? Belichick takes guys but says he wishes he could have taken them later?

Gee why wouldn't they pick Jones over Haskins??
Haskins... 22-1 record70% completion 174 QB rating 54/9 TD/Int ratio
Jones ....17-19 record 59% completion 122 QB rating 52/29 ratio
Washington has to be the happiest team today and Haskins gets to face the Giants twice a year.......
And I can't wait for Team Manning try to sabotage Jones to prolong Eli's career.....

Everyone who wanted the WR in the first round, there you go. Who knows about this guy?? I really don't want to read 70+ pages.

I think you have misunderstood. Bill often trades into places commensurate with where he has them ranked.

I don't see what the big deal is with saying he was picked a little higher than I rated him.
