Wouldn’t mind nabbing Hunter Renfrow also.

Wonderlics

Wide Receiver
29 JJ. .Arcega-Whiteside
27 Hakeem Butler
26 Miles Boykin
24 N’Keal Harry
21 Marquise Brown
18 A.J. Brown
17 D.K. Metcalf
11 Preston Williams
9 Riley Ridley

He scored quite a bit higher on the Wonderlic than Brown and Metcalf. I’ve said for years their reluctance to draft WRs is the fear they won’t grasp the playbook. Not surprising he a very high score among others players with that athleticism. Better chance - though no certainty - that he’ll catch on.

Riley Ridley scored a 9 yikes my Binkie.

Anybody else see Larry Fitzgerald when watching tape on Nkeal Harry?
Some of his sharp cuts and moves remind me of our own #11 (... not Bledsoe ...)

For those worried about 40-time; Jerry Rice ran a 4.6/4.7. It’s about game speed, people.

From the same guy a couple weeks back:

Basically, *for his size* Harry has notable burst and speed. To whatever extent people will remark that he isn't especially fast, it's because guys as big as him rarely are. The criticism at that point basically becomes "he's not Julio Jones", which makes sense because if he was he wouldn't be available at 32 in the first place.

He left out a lot, including Harry's ability and willingness to block which is just as important.

IMO, what separates Harry from the others is the bag of tricks and savvy moves that he already has- the double moves, his ability to evade tackles in a phone booth, and more importantly, his ability to hide his strengths: his push offs are subtle, not blatant- and that right there is a veteran move.

I see a lot of back shoulder fades in this guy's future. That alone is going to give DC's plenty of sleepless nights.

This is a great pick, a helluva value pick. I thought Harry would go in the middle of the first.

He can be developed. He seemed to run a limited route tree at ASU. Lots of slants, screens, and hitch routes where he turned upfield and was difficult to bring down. But he sometimes uses his body and not his hands to trap the ball.

But his ability to make tough, 50-50 receptions—great hands—his quickness for such a big guy, and the difficulty to bring him down to the turf all bode well.

27 lifts at the Combine? You gotta be kidding me. What a beast! He was hidden somewhat in the shadow of the Greek god DK Metcalf.

For a first-rounder, though, I was looking for a little more speed, 4.3/4 instead of his 4.5. But he will help out in the red zone. A lot. EDIT: He has _great_ body control.

You’ve already heard he’s “Gronk-like” in that respect by Karen Guregian of the Herald.

Hot take.

After watching 3 highlight reels he looks like an enhanced Troy Brown

Film Review by Voch Lombardi:

Like the reference to his dependability. That will get you Brady's trust in a hurry.

Wouldn’t mind nabbing Hunter Renfrow also.
The Patriots certainly like his three cone time and his rising to the challenge on the biggest stages.

In some of the highlights, I noticed his QB sucked

YAC ability via PFF:
(Video from before the combine - References to him being 6'4" obviously a little exaggerated)

They have 11 more picks. They might not be done drafting receivers.

They'll probably add a rookie pass-catching TE to the crowd of veterans on the current roster. It's too bad that a couple of the better TEs were gone, but in some ways I like this pick at #1 since it gives them a young wide receiver for several years rather than the parade of veterans with issues we've seen rotate through here.

Does he remind anyone else of Stevie Johnson?
No. He reminds me more of Larry Fitzgerald without being the natural strider that Fitzgerald was coming out of college. But watch him go up for contested balls (which he had to do quite a bit - my one concern about him at the next level), and you’ll see a lot of Fitz in him.

All better value picks imo, even Jones who i dont care about but he is a QB and even average QBs are commodity (as pats fans should know). Ferrell remains to be seen but position has value..

Let’s take Houston as an example. Yes tackle (especially LT) is more valuable than wr. And it almost worked out for them by letting the draft come to them. But Philly ruined everything jumping them for Dillard. And because their tackle situation is so dire they were forced to then reach for a 2nd round talent. Not the best value when you feel forced to take a player who should be going a round later because of need pushing better players down the board.

Harry has always been thought of as a fringe 1st early 2nd on most mocks. He went right around his projection. Hard to say this is the biggest reach of the night considering this plus our need at the position.

Another couple of film sessions:

Watch some film on Dax Raymond out of Utah State. He’s probably my favorite day 2/3 TE prospect.
