Patriots scouts apparently like Duke QB Daniel Jones.

So your argument is that I don’t know what I meant and you do?

Nope. This is a straw man. Two logical fallacies for you, if we're keeping track. You're right on schedule. You know exactly what you meant. You're merely trying to backtrack now because you walked into the proverbial haymaker.

I will say it one more time
The jets were drafting a qb.
They already wasted picks by moving up to 3 when they would have gotten one of the top rated QBs even without a move up.
The move up from 3 to 1 would have been stupid when they were absolutely getting a top rated QB at 3. So I was hoping they wolf threw away next years 1.
Mayfield is basically irrelevant to the conversation and only applicable because the rumor was the Browns were taking him.
I would have loved it just as much if they traded to 1 to take Darnold, or Rosen as well.

No, Mayfield is definitely not irrelevant. You made sure of that when you quoted him in that very post. You then said "please let that happen" regarding a division opponent drafting him. Your attempts to bring up the trade are still red herrings. Your quoted post was a post specifically about Mayfield. If we are to believe you here now, that you think he's a quality NFL quarterback, why would you want the Jets to take him?

The only two plausible explanations would therefore be that you either A) wanted the Jets to draft a quality NFL quarterback or, B) you didn't think he would be a quality NFL quarterback. There is no other explanation outside of those two. So let's try this one again - which one is it? Either answer the question or just repeat after me three simple little words: "I... was... wrong." It's not that hard. It actually feels pretty good to let that go from time to time and is good for one's character.

Eh screw it. Draft 12 QBs and see which one sticks.
Or Cousin....the Raiders would take a QB and dangle Carr. Here's the scenario. Throw our#32 for Derek Carr.........Brady oddly enough has not resigned a deal after 2019 and he nevr does that. What if this is his last? Carr is at $19mm but we can make that work.
Keep Carr and resign him if Brady walks after 2019 or, trade him in 2020 for a sure first rounder and A BOATLOAD more to a panicking 2021 Draft Team looking at QB.
A win either way.

I would just go with Grier. That’s 4 years where he’s making less over the entirety of the contact than what carr would make in a year. Leaves more money to build the other 52.

Here is my issue.

Murray is the new shiny thing. He will go #1.
He will be decent and Russel Wilson like but not Drew Brees...please on that.

Haskins is a one year kid. Gentleman and has talent but should not start today.

Jones is border line back up guy.

Lock will play well under the right program....not ours.

Grier et.al are NFL career back up types.

Carr is actually pretty good on a bad Team.

68.9 Completion %
4,049 Yards
19 TD's
10 Int.
93.9 Rating

Rosen is the best deal in the Draft and I am not his biggest fan. Just a good value.

The Carr deal is just for value as well but it comes as wampum in 2020....unless TB hangs em up

Under this plan we would have 2 QBs under contact for 33 mil base salary with the backup earning more than the starter. Do you really think BB would want this amount of money tied into the qb position even for 1 year?

I think Stidham could be a player down the line as well.
I like Stidham ceiling over Jones.

With many of the non-top QB prospects, they came from such lousy teams that one could argue it is difficult to evaluate them. Only one came from a supposedly-powerhouse team last year, and that was Stidham. Auburn was supposed to be a very strong team last year, it was ranked 8th Nationally overall before the season. And with Stidham at QB, Auburn ended up losing 5 games and having a semi-catastrophe of a season (at least for a team like Auburn).

As you say, guys like Brady thrived in big game environments. Garopollo had some pretty big moments on a lousy team, and so did Brissett (just look at his Florida St games). I don't know, I'm not sure if Stidham really fits the Patriot profile.

Once again zydecochris shows he can read BB’s mind! Draft predictor extraordinaire!:eek:;)

Daniel Jones’ eyes = Adam Gase (jets press conf)?
