2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

That was the worst call in modern playoff hockey. Barely even a 2 minute penalty. Refs decided the game.
Shaky call no doubt, but let's give the Sharks credit (and criticize Vegas) for the FOUR goals on one major penalty. That's not an everyday thing.

Regards,
Chris

what an over time period that was. any bodies game. what a come back in the series and game 7. unbelievable
Marchessault (sp?) is Chief Brody. Just kills the Sharks. I'm petrified each time his line is out there.

Regards,
Chris

Bogus call on the major. However, defense wins championships, especially in the NHL playoffs. To give up 4 goals is all on them. Bad calls happen and your penalty killers need to step up. Not fold like a cheap suite.

Still a fun watch.

Bad calls unfortunately happen and happen frequently enough. Four goals in 5 minutes on a one man advantage don't. And while someone can definitely be upset about the penalty being a major (it was the door being opened for what happened next), that was a collapse of epic! proportion. A Vegas fan should save plenty of anger/blame for the penalty kill D.

You beat me to the posting :). My exact thoughts regarding that epic collapse.

I hear ya, it was a collapse, but if that major wasn’t called max goals Sharks can score on the 2 min PP is 1 and they don’t end up winning the game/series. That simply wasn’t even close to being a major penalty.

Why?

I thought the Leafs outplayed them but it broke Boston’s way.

On the other hand that is one really talented team and they aren’t breaking through.
You nailed the reason.

Plus he's lost 8 of his last 9 playoff series.

FWIW:
I have been a Pats STH since '82 and watched them play in Fenway as a teenager.

I didn't misunderstand the Leafs fan in last year's playoff thread. He was wrong and quasi admitted it by blaming it on a bad replay. He edited his posts, much like you have here, so it looks rough in retrospect but unlike him I don't engage in revisionism.

You admitted to somewhat trolling earlier in this thread (or have you edited that post too?). You didn't seem to take any issue with the thread when you were posting in it before now so all that seems a bit odd.

That said, I had/have no desire to engender ill will and was to my way of thinking administering a playful return poke based on the Andersen comment. He was far and away the Leafs best player tonight as I posted in real time. There was no need for you to go postal and there is no ill will on my part. As for yours, that is up to you but bear in mind life is too short to lose your composure on an internet forum and the hater is always more disturbed than the hated. I'm all good here but if you feel we need to engage in any soothing of the waters it would be best to do so in a PM.

Like I said, it’s a patriots forum, so expect there to be smack talk since not everyone here is in love with the B’s. If I said something that can be perceived as trolling, I expect trolling right back. I took issue when some of you like Ivan took personal shots at me (in which you clicked agree multiple times). That’s when I felt thread went downhill and I expressed my belief it shouldn’t be here.

Bruins played confident...the Leafs also played well but they were looking for that cross ice pass too much. They saw something that made them want to go to that too often. Too many shots on the perimeter.

However once I saw Jules crush that beer on the JT...this game was all but over...

The Bruins are battle tested...but come on now, so they got past the Texans (playoff analogy)...they play a rested Columbus team that ran through the top team in the league.

Still cheering for Avs Cole Harbour boy MacKinnon out in Col.

Bruins got a good shot this year with the way things are shaking down, and they have experience and playoff toughness...

They were winning 3-0 before the bad call ... sounds like they thought they had the game in the bag. Was a bad call in a way but his teamate did no favors finishing the cross check with a slam to the ice .. I think that figured into it due to the blood.

2 goals in a major can be expected. But 4 goals is epic suckage.

"Julian Edelman chugging a beer was awesome. Probably got everyone fired up, including us. Good for him. We’ll return the favor at some point down the road. I thought it was outstanding. That’s Game 7 playoff hockey for you right there." -- Bruce Cassidy

Don't you get the impression that Brady, Edelman and other Patriots, as usual getting it, are rooting super hard for the Bruins and Celtics because being part of a 4 team all one city sweep would be totally awesome?

Really they should, or at least could, be rooting for the Sharks and Warriors given where they grew up. I think if the B's and C's faced those two teams in the finals Brady and Edelman would be rooting for the Boston teams in totality.

The B's and C's in turn are completely feeding off of the Patriot energy. Granted they're in season but you would never get this from Yawkey Way.

Brady and Edelman are rooting for the B’s and C’s because of the Patriots fan base, which for the most part supports the other Boston teams, and because those other teams have supported the Patriots in the past. They are just being smart.

Sharks got lucky last night. If they win the cup, it will be tainted. No way should there have been a 5 minute major for cross checking the guy across the chest. Dumb referees.

Who were the morons that were saying Rask sucked and was the weak link? He was the core reason this even went to 7 games. GREAT JOB, TUUUUUKKKKKKSSSS!
I was one of them! I will eat my crow. Tuukka was great in Games 6 and 7. I hope he can play like that for the rest of the playoffs. Bruins will go far if he does.

While I agree they are being smart, they also seem to be fans, probably because of your other reasons - i.e. the fans around here are passionate about all their sports teams and it's catchy.
