It doesn't sound all that encouraging and the feel of the article implies that he is gone. I hope things change quickly!

Part of rooting for a team is rooting for your favorite players. To me, McGinest epitomizes everything the team stands for -- strength, toughness, brains, team work, humility, and professionalism. I hope the Pats find a way to keep him. Like Troy Brown, he's someone who leads by example, and I believe his example has yielded returns in the way new Pats take to the system.

They're your favorite players BECAUSE they play for your favorite team. It has never been the other way around.

Wow, I can't believe that the Patriots haven't called him to offer some type of new deal! It will be a sad day to see Willie in another uni! This is the hardest offseason I can remember in a long time, losing Willie and possibly Adam.

I just hope he signs with an NFC team. It would be hard seeing him twice a year with the Fins or Jets!

I don't know... when I was in High School I really enjoyed watching Rod Woodson play, because I played CB and I thought he played the position the way it was supposed to be played. I didn't like the Steelers. If I had to name my favorite player at that time it would have been him.

This line doesn't sound like a good omen for him coming back:
