Yea I thought about trying that by brain won't allow me to NOT watch when I know the Pats are on. Must be incredibly tough to avoid spoilers too

In Europe it is actually far easier because nobody gives a **** about the NFL generally speaking. Just need to avoid Twitter and Reddit which makes often for a more productive day. And the thought of having an entire game as VOD with all the ads taken out waiting for you at home is a bonus.

But the days of working on 2-3h of sleep after a night game are mostly over for me.

@NYJ, @Wash, @Balt, @Phil.....
I may get to 4 games and not even go to Gillette.......all are within 200 miles.. Haven't been to that many since '07 went to Gillette for week 16 vs Miami. and 2 games at Meadowlands, week 1 vs JEts and week 17 vs Giants....

Talented teams with significant overhauls, and no tape to study, are not good opponents for game plan teams.

Imagine thinking Mike Tomlin or that staff is gonna change anything.

Also not seeing this significant overhaul. Bell was gone last year and they traded Brown

At worst we lose to KC, Philly, @Miami, and maybe Bal/Cleveland...another 12-4 season or better is a real possibility.

Yeah I know I have been watching games from all over Europe over the last few years. For me the 4.30 games were still kinda ok in terms of sleep. Even if they end around 1am.
I also see live the 4.30 games live if the Patriots are playing ;)

Living in Singapore for over 10 years the 1pm games started 12 or 13 hours later, meaning I’d be up from 1-4am or 2-5am. I used to stay up and watch but slowly learned after many brutal Mondays at the office how to avoid seeing the score and just watch on Monday night.

Now I’m on the West Coast which I think is the best possible timing. You can watch football all day and still relax for a few hours after the SNF game is over.

Pittsburgh week 1 is so lame. Good for the Pats, bad for the Steelers as this will be an automatic loss. Last time the Steelers beat the Pats at Gillette was in 2008 without Brady.

I wanted Dallas, but I’m guessing Fox or CBS blocked this.

Might actually try to make this one since I'll be in the States

In the sandbox, 1pm games are eh...4pm games are awful and SNF/MNF/TNF games or ok because most of it is just early in the morning.

Well, they've only opened with the Steelers, what, four times before?

Gimme a break. The Patriots playing at home in the cold is one of the best home field advantages in the history of the NFL.
They don't have 3 home games to end the season (if these rumors are correct)
********. They play the Orange Bowl on New Year's day. You think they want to have an NFL game played in that stadium 3 days prior?

With all due respect, it never ceases to amaze me how some people in here just have to find something to whine about. If the above schedule is correct, then:

- The Patriots start with a home game
- They finish with 2 home games
- Despite the above, there is only ONE set of back-to-back road games on consecutive weekends
- There are no 3-in-a-row road games
- They are at home for the TNF game
- They are home after the short week following MNF

You literally could not create a more favorable situation for NE given the constraints the schedule makers face.

You realize I was responding to a prior iteration of the schedule. We're discussing apples and oranges. You came after the fact and looked at a different schedule.

I know "any given sunday", but i can't see the patsies losing any of these games. Not to these bums. These stiffs.

Art miami week 2. Hot hot hot. But they should be in disarray so an easy win.

Only difficult games are @EAGLES and hosting chiefers.

I love that Steeler fans will have to watch #6 get revealed.

One for the other thumb!! Derrr

This. Im in western pa and I promise that will be torture for their fans. Hopefully lots of ‘6’ references throughout pregame

Historically playing in Miami first has worked out much better than playing in Miami second. But regardless they’ll likely choke there no matter the time of year, provided they’re playing a crappy Dolphins team.

Bruh it will be like we won a playoff game if we squish the fish in week 2!

I’d think fans outside of NE and Pittsburgh have seen this matchup enough times, and especially with the subtractions of Gronk and Brown, would largely view this as a dud opener for Sunday night. There were many more intriguing matchups, especially from the perspective of playing the NFC East and the excitement around the Browns.

Something to note:

The week 16 matchup time against the Bills has yet to be set. This means it could possibly be flexed into Saturday, like they did with a couple games last year
