One of the best Gronk catches ever!

I knew that was going to be the catch before opening the thread. I remember a video on after that catch of Brady telling Gronk "how the **** did you catch that?!"

I am going to miss Gronk a lot.

I thought the exact same thing. I thin Chris Harris broke this down in his Player's Tribune "5 Hardest Receivers To Cover" piece and was simply amazed at his ability to make it happen.

How about the reaction of #25, Harris Jr? He couldn't believe that Gronk caught that ball.

One thing that has always bothered me about that catch was the lack of play it received outside of here. The Beckham one-hander was right around the same time and has been shown repeatedly in promos all over football land. I think Gronk's catch was more difficult.

Gronk’s catch was great, but there’s no way in Hell that was more difficult than Beckham’s. I don’t like OBJ, but let’s give credit where credit is due. That was an all-time great catch.

OBJ catch was spectacular, but that catch from Gronk was impressive because he was gonna get lit up by multiple defenders all around him.

Oh, I'm not taking anything away from Gronk. It was another all-time great catch. But the level of difficulty on OBJ's catch > the level of difficulty on Gronk's catch.

If I'm not mistaken, in that game that punk TJ Ward tried to take off Gronks knees again, launching himself like a missile but Gronk avoided with a nice move. Punk MF

Agree. Plus it filmed better, made for better TV. It's hard to see the details of the Gronk catch in the first game-time shot, I need the slow-mo reply to really see it.

Unfortunately, we did not see many great catches from gronkowski in 2018. I know he played most of the year hurt and that his presence alone on the field kept opposing teams honest, but last year he was a shell of his former self.

Regardless, i will miss watching even the diminished gronkowski.

This catch was better than the Odell Beckham Jr catch. Having to go over the middle and risk of getting clobbered, line drive throw, behind him. Way harder than a deep ball you have time to judge. Gronk has to react quickly. OBJ's catch is overrated.
