Official 2019 Coaching Staff Change Thread

I took it to mean in addition to his STs responsibilities.

I don't think so. I think this is "normal" job rotation, as would be the case in any job. In order to develop Judge for the future, he needs to give him positions as position coaches. I could see him being a WR or TE coach for a couple of years, and then perhaps a defensive position coach on defense.

In what universe would going from a coaching assistant with the Super Bowl champion NE Patriots to being the RB coach at Eastern Illinois University be considered a career advancement? This was a polite firing by the Pats. Good luck in your future endeavours Coach Austin.
I was thinking the same logic for Daly going to KC. Not a promotion and to KC?

I don't know I see being a position coach as a demotion to STs. I think if you give him a good STs assistant he could do both STs and WRs.

He's Schiano's man.....at least they have worked together before and know each other. BB respects Schiano and probably gave him free reign over his choice.

:cool::cool:

Oh man, Schiano pulled a switcheroo on us. We thought we were getting his 2013 Bucs LB coach, but we actually got the 2012 LB coach that was promoted to assistant defensive coordinator in 2013.

Thanks to the wonderful salary data available from college programs, it’s certainly interesting that Fraser only made $65,000 last year as a quality control coach. It would be weird to see him jump straight from that to NFL position coach even despite his prior experience with the Bucs. I wonder if maybe they’d move Steve Belichick to linebackers and then hire Fraser as an assistant for some additional experience in that meeting room.

Edit: It won't be Steve Belichick, but the same idea holds. Fraser's 30 years of coaching experience would be great as an assistant LB coach behind Mayo, if that's where he ends up.

Fraser's name was speculated about in some other threads.

Ding. Ding. Ding. I think we have a winner.

Stephan Belichick is slowly ascending towards the the DC position. Which -- unless something unexpected happens -- should guarantee another ~4-5 years of BB as coach at least.

BB retires as HC in 4-5 years and Steve takes over as HC ???

How old will Brady's oldest be in 5 years? LOL

Yep. I had Fraser and Bill Sheridan- who was GS's DC at TB and current BC LB coach possibilities to come here.

Doesn't matter sign him!
Brady retires, BB Retires, Brady signs onto Pats coaching staff, Jack becomes a Michigan QB and gets drafted in the 6th round of the 2029 draft by the Patriots...Deja Vu !! :D

Jerod Mayo joining the Patrios coaching staff as Linebackers coach. I remember when he retired people thought he might join the staff right away but I guess he wanted to do radio for a few years.

They are also adding Greg Schiano disciple Bob Fraser in an unspecified but presumably defensive role.

He was working in the health insurance sector and doing the radio gigs on the side.

So this Schiano thing was weird.

I guess that I have to say it. Is it weirder than what happened with Josh last year?
i suppose its more negative for the team than last years thing.
