Greg Schiano Steps Down From DC Position

Funny thing is the same people on here happy about him not being a coach will be *****ing and moaning he's not coaching after the first time the defense gives up a first down in the first preseason game.

Like what?
Who knows, but it does read that way. But maybe no press bomb but the type of situation that could cause it. Like his marriage is on the rocks and he needs to spend time at home to save it. Or he’s struggling with addiction. Etc.

Was the Tennessee Volunteer fan base involved in this? Wait, Mayo is a UT guy!

Greg Schiano's tenure in New England:

Greg: Bill how about that DL at #32?
Bill: No. Any OL Dante wants.
Greg: Bill how about that LB at #56?
Bill: No. Jordan Richards is coming back and i want that Rutgers Safety graded a UDFA that nobody have a clue.
Greg: Bill how about that CB at #64?
Bill: No. We are trading that pick for a 5'7'' white slot WR.
Greg: You know what? I need to spend more time on my faith and family

I'll be honest. I did not feel that Schiano would be a good fit here. Based on what I saw of him as a Coach for Tampa, he was too much of a Control freak. I think he'd have clashed with BB.

I said way back that there was a huge difference between being someone's friend and being their subordinate and that I didn't think Schiano could handle that.

You would have hoped those two would have vetted out and potential tension or conflict before he was brought on but you might be right.

Schiano might have seen what it would be like to actually work with Bill the last month or so and decided that it wasn't for him.. Or Bill could have suggested to Greg that spending time with his family would be a good thing instead of being with the Pats..

We'll never truly know.

It's the Patriots -- I always see a "Wow! I didn't see that coming!" coming.

Well that sucks.

Welcome back Daly?
Aaron Glenn?
Mangina?
Crennel?
Stephen Belichick
This is the weirdest off-season I can remember.
We are giving the Steelers a run for the money with a wacky Wednesday off-season
Really people disagree with this.

Reads like a Schiano press bomb is imminent...
My first thought. Either someone didn’t get their way on something or he did something stupid that’s about to make the papers.
