Schefter Rumor: QB Josh Rosen “could be” traded?

Maybe but he would also be sitting behind Rivers or Manning for at least a year.
I'm shocked the Dolphins aren't all over him.

I don't think he'd be behind Eli long. A few games of Eli having no mobility and getting killed behind a weak oline would have the NY papers screaming for Rosen.

I'm fine with #56 for Rosen, or maybe the lower 2nd plus a 4th. Jimmy G was a high 2nd. Worth it to get your hands on a talented QB, even if he carries risk of not panning out.

Da FUUUUUQ?!?!

Clearly I was speaking statistically. Then again, I'm sure you already knew that. Sometimes I really like you and value you as a poster. Other times, I can't figure out wtf your problem is.
They weren’t close statistically.

I don’t think they were that far off. I’ll give you Brady’s completion percentage was quite a bit higher. I’m not comparing them as players. It’s stating that they were similar statistically. Brady wasn’t always Brady. The intangibles? Sure. But he had plenty of games where it was checkdown after checkdown, or he held onto the ball too long and took sacks. Weis helped Brady just as much as Brady helped them those first few years. It was the perfect situation. That’s the complete opposite of what Rosen went through in Arizona. Personally, I’d rather see us get a guy in the 3rd-4th round of this draft and take another swing at it next year. I don’t like Rosen's face. Reminds me of Cutler.

You just compared 3-10 55% complete 11/14 td/int 32nd in scoring offense josh Rosen to
14-3 64% 18/12 6th in scoring offense Tom Brady
They aren’t on the same planet in stats

The most glaring difference to me is the completion percentage because Brady was still facing defenses that could mug WR’s. It’s very easy to get open in today’s NFL so that 55% completion percentage is pretty awful.

It’s a terrible comparison. A guy who couldn’t get out of his own way to a guy who transformed a losing team into a SB champion

If we get Rosen I have no doubt that he will end up better than all the QBs in this class other than Haskins and maybe Murray.

In 2020 we are most likely going to miss out on Tua/Fromm/Herbert.

I think this is a no-brainer. If we can get Rosen without overpaying we should be going after him hard.

Yeah as Brady can groom the young man. Seems like he is maturing as really did not like him due to him being so *ocky and arrogant.

I wouldn't count on Tom Brady "grooming" any successor. Just not in his competitive nature and I can't say I'd be any different in his shoes. I don't think he'd ignore the guy, but I'm also skeptical that he'd greet the guy with open arms.

Similar to JG the "grooming" would happen mostly by McD and BB in countless extra hours in the film room or individual workouts as reported by Curran before the 2018 draft. The big thing someone sitting behind TB12 would learn is just to study his approach and commitment to the game and locker room humility.

It is one thing to be confident in yourself and it is another thing to be ignorant and to refusing to learn. I did not see Rosen to be the latter.

Exactly, how else do people think we’ll get the next guy. Doubt we luck into a jimmy G again and too 4-5 qbs in drafts go with the top 15. Let Rosen learn behind the GOAT and McDaniels for 2-3 years

Never seen this guy before, but he's right on the money as far as I'm concerned. Well thought out video, especially for a college kid! Bright future ahead of him.

I thought the guy did a good job and it would be interesting for all of us to watch. Rosen is a smart kid and a good athlete. The Pats would be a great spot for him because he wouldn't have to be Brady 2007 or 2017. He would start his Pats career as Brady 2000 and if he ever starts he would be part of a controlled offense, like Brady was in 2001.

On tiny moan: I thought your commentary was very good and gave me pause on Rosen because you are not so enamored of his college play.

Eli Manning is something like 9 losses away from the all time record for most losses for a QB ever. That number is very reachable IF he plays 16 this year. If the season starts poorly in the Meadowlands for the Blue Team and they are 3-6 or something like that, do you think maybe they give him the Old Yeller treatment instead..?

Agree on @reamer 's PoV. Too many times- myself included, we as fans become fixated on the shiny new ornament on the X-Mas tree.

I have no idea if Rosen is a good QB or not. That situation in AZ is a nightmare. Great to get alternative PoVs

Can’t evaulate a guy off one game, but based off the Cards Packers game I watched, I dunno if this kid has it. His numbers for the year are really bad.

one might look at the story of Steve Young and how he absolutely sucked for the Buccaneers but was a hall of famer with the Niners

Yep, if we're talking about pick 56, the kind of QB options you're looking are Jarrett Stidham and Tyree Jackson. Maybe a Will Grier will still be around, but I wouldn't count on it. That makes Rosen look mighty attractive.

Well said I think Brady is on a two year plan counting this year. I think after 2020 all bets are off and the Patriots would be foolish to think otherwise. Knowing the Organization I think the latter will be in play the GOAT cannot play forever. I am sure if they make a move for Josh Rosen: he will be the Patriots Starter in 2021 and if I am Rosen I want that in writing.
