Overtime Proposal: The Mahomes Rule

I have little to no respect for these crybabies. When Belichick asked to make the extra point more competitive by pushing it back I remember Polian complaining that it would be a travesty if a pat makes or breaks a team in an important game etc. We proceeded to immediately get burned by the rule change when Ghost missed a pat in the 2015afcg and guess what, Belichick didn't shed a tear like a boss. He didn't make excuses and ask for a change. He didn't even bring it up. We have been victimized in important games with bogus defensive pi calls and BB simply says our corner should've played it better. In a manly sport such as football, Belichick's attitude and general dislike for drama should be far more revered than what it is.

The funny thing is, no matter what rule changes they implement, who will be the team that best adapts and practices a play or two to use should the situation arise? There is only one team that will absorb the rule changes better than everyone else, and it's the team that you are changing the rules to combat in the first place. That's why it never works.

Excellent question. Yeah, go ahead and guarantee at least one possession in OT

Let me know how that works out

Still bothered by the fact that Reid had plenty of time to go for the win, but went for the tie instead.

The Chiefs didn't just have the time remaining on the clock (16 seconds when they reached the 21 yard line) to run more than one play, they also got a free timeout from the officials to discuss their options. After the officials announced that the offsides penalty on Flowers was declined, they then spent another minute verifying that the time remaining in the game was correct. Nothing unusual happened with the clock on the previous play that would have justified a review. Even with enough time to be more aggressive and a free timeout to consider it, Reid still decided to be conservative.

Why? He's a wimp

I’ve watched that play a lot of times where Mahomes throws the ball away, down the right sideline and out the back of the end zone.

That was intentional grounding. Similar the call that went against Brady in SB46. There was no receiver in the area.

Damn, forgot about that! I remember screaming for it.

A great man once said :
"You want to change the rules? Change em. We play and we win, that's what we do."

Do they really think it'll matter? Belichick will just figure out a way to take that advantage away.

How is Andy Reid consistently terrible at time management. It honestly baffles me. It always, always, always comes down to him not taking advantage of time/mismanaging it.

Seriously. It blows my mind.

I'm glad we've got our 6 rings and GOAT's because the game is going straight down the ****ter.

Never satisfied. They upgrade from the first points win which was usually a lousy fg to have to score a td to walk away. Had the Pats scored just a fg and KC came back with 7 there would be no mention whatsoever of this rule.

All they had to do was either stop them from scoring or at the least hold them to a fg and they couldn’t do it. Their defense just flat out sucks balls. Entitled crybabies.

I love the way the rule is. It’s the absolute in your face/you f’n suck score on the opponent.

I love that the league is tweaking rules to "make it fair" when going up against a 42yr old QB this coming season.

Regards,
Chris

If the Falcons won the toss and got a TD in 51 there would have been no unfairness whining that Brady never got the ball. The same with the KC game. The fact that it was the Patriots who won is what fuels it.
