Gronk to retire

Thanks, Gronk, for many afternoons, evenings and seasons of extraordinary accomplishments and wonderful memories.

I hope your battered body is kind to you as you grow older and that you have the marvelous "rest of your life" that you so richly deserve.

God bless you, Gronk!

I had laugh at this. Great Patriot but Faulk retired 4 years after Brown

Me, too, after I reread the OP ... That said, can't say Troy's name enough

He's scared of Jamal Adams.

Anybody else see Gronk retired average .69 TDs per game?

Bob Hope sang "Thanks for the Memories" Well thanks Gronk for those great memories of your playing the game with joy and skill. Good Luck. All the Best. When you believe you are feeling well again. Think hard about the long road ahead of you and how you will live. Live it to the fullest and enjoy

yeah, well Bob Hope ripped off ME, Joe "Crooner" Kerr, who wrote and performed that seminal hit "Thanks For The Mammaries" at Tony's Boom Boom Room in Brooklyn way back when...

So what's the over/under on how many months until there is a Gronk & 'The Rock' movie?

If I'm Gronk ... I'd try to hook up with Liam Neeson ... much better actor.

He was the mvp in one of them.
Yeah, MVP for throwing 1 TD and 1 INT and with an 81 QB rating. Pretty much a joke. The only reason they won at all was because they were playing the Bad News Bears with Rex Grossman at QB. In his other 'victory', he had a 56 QB rating.

In his other two SB appearances, he threw 2 TDs and 3 INTs and had a collective rating of 80.

I don’t, I think it’s absurd Jerome Bettie got in before Terrell Davis.
neither of those belongs in there
Gronk is def in, I think it’ll be first ballot.
We've had a lot of great Patriots tight ends, but remember who was throwing to Gronk.

...Wes Welker never lit it up in another city

"Yeah, well, if I'd been born then I'd a thrown him outta the bar"

I thought I'd miss disco, but then punk came along and I hung a razor blade from my ear. Moving on...I am now 100% IN on Zach...ZACH ATTACK!!! You heard it here first from the King Of Komedy...Joey Kerr Supahstah!

Jim Stafford married her, you know

spot on

With respect to scoring touchdowns, the 5 greatest seasons by a tight end in NFL history were by

Rob Gronkowski,
Rob Gronkowski,
Rob Gronkowski,
Rob Gronkowski,
and
Rob Gronkowski.

While being a dominant blocker as well.
Forget it, I'm just getting out of the way

Hey, I'm not crazy

He sucked in the last win.
He played well in the first win. I don’t out much stock in QB rating which is a measure I consider something made up for people who do not understand football so they can approximate qb play based on sometimes meaningless statistics.
He played well vs the saints until he choked a pick 6.
He sucked against Seattle.

But he won his way to 4 SBs.
We aren’t comparing him to Brady here, we are looking at the top 8.
I find it very difficult to argue Steve young had a better career than manning. That’s the easiest comparison so I’ll leave it at that.

His weaknesses from scouting report in 2010:

WEAKNESSES
Durability concerns since he missed the entire 2009 season after back surgery and missed three games in 2008. Does not have a great top-end speed and may not be able to stretch the field at the next level. Lacks the elusiveness to make people miss after catch.

Can anyone really tell me with a straight face that they would rather have Gonzalez than Gronk?
You got a bunch of 'em over at Chiefs Planet.

Yea thats a pretty comprehensive list.

Doesn't feel right to leave Gino,Bru, Wes and Willie out but not sure who I would remove.

You could argue Wes over Troy but Troy played D

You could argue Wes over Steamer but Steamer was a better player.

Could argue Bru/Willie over Nellie but for those of us who saw Nellie play it wouldn't sit well with you if you removed him from the list.
