There were rumors of the Pats getting bumped to SNF in week 1, but it sounds like it's a reality now. I expect to see Gronk carry that Lombardi out on the field...

edit: Florio thinks the schedule will be released on Tuesday April 16. Please put all schedule rumors into this thread.

Should the NFL release the schedule after the draft?

I like it ............. Sunday night games are my favorite.

I bet if the Rams won they would of played Thursday. NFL bias against the Patriots continues.

Stupid as **** but whatever. I don't get why the whole league should make one team being 100 years old the main attraction.

Do not like this. Pats get screwed out of a mini 10 day bye too. Maybe the NFL in its infinite wisdom will have use play Thursday night week 2. S/O

Packers vs Bears ?

The battle of two mediocre teams with the Packers most overrated QB in the NFL.

Aaron Rogers turns into a frog after New Years & no kiss with get him to the Super Bowl.

Let’s face it.... This is the only way the NFL could get Aaron Rodgers into the opener.

No ... it's just that for me all my work is done for the day - good time to watch and chill out.

Nah, this was rumored before the Super Bowl was played. It is super lame though.

Yeah, this was floated out a while ago. Bears v Packers. Whatever. I hate the night games anyway.

I mean, I get these are two storied franchises.

On the other hand, you have a team that just tied the Steelers for most SB wins (and counting). Seems like the best way to honor the 100th anniversary is to put the greatest team/head coach/quarterback/dynasty on the field for the opening game, not discount double check against a team that hasn't won a super bowl in over 30 years.

Plus you screwed the Pats out of a mini bye. Screw you NFL.

Guys, the Pats are going to get their mini-bye regardless. It just won’t be week 1. It’s not like the league was going to give us (or any team) 2 mini-byes just because you win the Super Bowl.

Edit: nevermind I was wrong.

This is complete BS! I guess Sunday night games are easier to get to than Thursday night games, but part of being the Superbowl winner is being the first game of the season. Disrespect!

The NFL did give the Super Bowl winner 2 mini byes per season, with the advent of Thursday Night Football.

I like opening the season on Thursday because it's a free mini-bye without the short week after playing a game on Sunday.

Who cares when they get to open?

Me, I'm a 1:00pm Sunday guy, but championships have their costs, and the Pats play a TON of prime-time games.

And for the record, the defending World Series Champion Boston Red Sox play 11 games on the road before opening at home.

You know who is not unhappy about this? The greatest coach of all time.

Bill Belichick on D&H details challenges Patriots will have following 4th preseason game and getting ready for season opener

BB clearly hates playing in Thursday night openers, therefore, I hate it when they play in Thursday night openers. Sunday night openers rule.
