Wynn is coming off injury and is a rook and Cannon is great mostly but you can expect he’ll miss a few games and he might be one concussion away from being done. If Wynn struggles early and Cannon gets hurt again, strong depth will be needed.

I think a tackle will be taken early maybe even in the first round. Any vets the Pats should be looking at? Like how they snagged Trent Brown last year.

Wynn could be plugged in at Guard if Tunney leaves if there is a bigger name tackle drafted/acquired
They won't draft a second first round OL for the same position after drafting Wynn. I think that BB will probably pick up additional O-Line depth from the UDFA ranks or a 5th round or later pick. Or possibly wait for rosters to cut down and sign one before the season as Wynn insurance. I particularly like the last idea because it will give BB a real idea of what Wynn looks like in camp and if he can be counted on.

We simply have too many other needs to sink that kind of asset into a position and there's plenty of ways to build depth without squandering high level assets. And after all, it's depth we need, not an all-pro.

I would draft Scharping N/Ill r4 and Barton Utah r/6/7

That’s exactly the kind of answer BB would give if he thought you wanted him to think that you should think about him not thinking about not drafting Barton or Scharping.

As a consummate homer, there is confidence Pats have a plan to address LT and O Line depth.. not sure if it is Wynn or some other proven LT..

Waddle was a guy who I thought we should have resigned as a back up, Brown was a tad rich for the Pats in light of the Salary Cap.. Brown will be forever indebted to the Pats as they turned him from mediocre RT to a highly sought after LT..

Brown paid us back in Lombardis. I don't think that team is as dominant, with such a slapdash receiver corps, if the o-line isn't able to give TB12 an unusual amount of time in the pocket.

Does anyone else feel like, with Scar as coach, we could pretty much put this guy in at tackle and we'd still be ok?

Thuney started as a rookie as 3rd rounder. I don't see the need to draft OL first round with more pressing needs.
Hey Tom, We know you are going to be 42 so we are going to put an unproven LT on the line for you. You O.K. with that?
I think Wynn might be fine but Penn might be great insurance for the year. Cannon is not always healthy either.
Actually see then Drafting OL. Prediction? Lindstrom from B.C. in the second round.

My preliminary Draft picks with fun trades:
First round:
32nd overall – Jeffrey Simmons DT Miss State (ACL now but top ten kid)
Second: 56th overall – Chris Lindstrom T/G/C B.C. (Wynn?, Cannon always hurt, Thuney is FA in 2020)
Second: 64th overall – Traded to AZ for Josh Rosen QB
Third: 73rd overall – Jaylon Ferguson DE Louisiana Tech
Third: 97th overall - Traded to Tampa Bay for Gerald McCoy DT
Third: 101st overall -Deebo Samuel WR South Carolina
Fourth: 134th overall -Amani Hooker Iowa S
Fifth: 159th overall-Trade from Seattle for Sixth Rounder #205, Seventh Rounder 243, Seventh Rounder #246 (Hawks have only 4 picks)Traded to Cleveland for 5th round RFA Rishard Higgins WR (name a better 5th round value at WR and at only $2mm?)
Sixth: 205th overall -Traded to Seattle
Seventh: 239th overall -Andrew Van Ginkel OLB/EDGE Wisconsin
Seventh: 243rd overall -Traded to Seattle
Seventh: 246th overall - Traded to Seattle
Seventh: 252nd overall -Zach Gentry TE Michigan (former prep QB. Raw but 6'8" and 265 with 4.6 speed)

If Gronk retires this changes

I actually see them drafting OL with the first 4 picks.

I don't think that they will draft OL with the first 4 picks. I do think that they will draft an OL with ONE of the first four picks.

I expect us to bring in vet, as we did last year.
