The draft

The advantage though of keeping the #32 is you get him for 5 years.

I think he traded up for both Hightower and Chandler Jones. IMO why he trades down is the 32nd pick is almost a 2nd anyway, but he can get trade values like a real 1st -mid or top round. Then a high 2nd loses little i value, plus he gets an extra pick.
Maybe he gets multiple second round picks

In theory, KC most aligns with this scenario in terms of teams with multiple 2nds/value. This would mean shipping the 32nd overall pick (590 value) for KC’s two 2nd rounders at 61 and 63 (292 and 276), and their 6th (10.6)

I’m in the camp of hoping they condense the 12 picks into 7-8, with the possibility that this involves trading the other 4-5 picks for proven vets, future picks, or trade ups.

Someone suggested we draft Savion smith from Alabama as a core special teamer. Not so sure about that wisdom. But...

I would not be upset if the offensive tackle Williams fell to 32. And he is dropping some since the combine. Could he be this year’s Malcolm brown?

I’d be all for an OT at #32, but after seeing multiple seasons, I’m starting to think that maybe there’s a reason why Malcolm Brown dropped that far.

From your keyboard to Belichick’s ears.

someone might overpay for that 5th year option in a trade though.

I think we might hit Patriots draft trade Bingo this year: Trade up, Trade back, Trade for a player, Trade into the future, Stand Pat.

If they trade for a player, I could see them going after Solomon Thomas from SF. SF already has some quality players on that D Line, and they may end up drafting Bosa. That may make Thomas, who has yet to do much in their system, available.

Lindstrom would be a slam dunk pick if we didn't have Mason signed long term. I don't know if we're going to move on from Thuney (incredibly reliable starter), but if we did, I can't think of a much better fit than Lindstrom. His technique is impeccable and his testing was fantastic -- one of the best Combines I've ever seen.

Loved Wynn’s tape.

Were you the one screaming about Wynn being hte best LT in the draft last year? It was you, right?

I went and looked at his tapes after your comments - then jumped for joy when they took him (and then Michel, who was my favorite in the draft).

There were a number of us that were high on Wynn. He obviously didn’t have the length but his tape was almost flawless.
