Report: Phillip Dorsett back on one-year deal

Now we just need 2 WRs instead of 3

I like it. I never understood why he was never utilized while Gordon was around and I thought he was productive when called upon. He is what he is and though he’ll never be an all pro, he can help this team.

I like the guy and feel like he could be utilized more.

Good hands.

And man that TD in the AFCCG was huge.

This move may not have the splash of a John Ross trade but keeping a young speedster who is now fully entrenched in the playbook is a really good thing.

Breakout year coming !!

Ouch, one year deal? Nowhere to hide the money. If they haven't done any restructuring, their cap availability might be pretty nonexistent right now.

Having said that, I like Dorsett being back, though if they hit on a draft pick and/or Gordon is able to play, he might regret that decision - a 1-yr deal sounds like he wanted a chance to prove himself to get to the next level.

Basically he caught everything thrown at him this season, ok there were not many targets but thats for a reason the coaching staff decided. Hopefully they trust him to improve his workload.

I hope they plan to use him more. I was astounded by his lack of targets in the sb while hogan got several with 0% chance of him catching one on peters.

Didn’t think hed be back after talks that he wanted to be a starter somewhere ( which would subsequently might mean hed want starter money) but for the right price im happy hes back.

Dorsett was seeking an expanded role with his next team, and the Patriots (Josh McDaniels in particular) made him feel comfortable with the possibility of that happening in New England.

The Bucs and Giants were also in the mix for Dorsett. He chose to run it back with the Patriots on a one-year deal.

I'm all for continuity. I know not everyone feels this way but I want to see Hogan re-upped as well. Bring in another veteran plus a couple rookies (maybe Berrios in the mix as well) and see how things shake down in August.

I liked the way he was playing until Gordon took his reps, then he kind of went non existent. I will always remember him though for that catch while getting held in the AFCCG as noted above.

Even better, I hope this means we’ve seen the last of Chris Hogan in a Pats uniform. Dorsett has a much higher ceiling and would be good if Brady gives him more opportunities. Still unsure why Hogan got the call so often over Dorsett last year.

3-4 million?

Disagree on Hogan. Granted, he had an off year but might've been hurt. I'd like to at least see him back in camp.
