Other WR’s Not Named Tate

He slated to make $12m next year. BB has never paid a player that much at 31 except Tom
In this market 12m for a stud WR is a steal. You don't think he'd make an exception in this situation?

No clue. Just going by history. BB doesn't like to pay old players big money not named Tom.

I’m hardly the first to say it but I don’t see how you pay Tate even the low end estimate 3/$36 type deal while letting Jules and (hopefully) Gronk play on their deals and not disrupt the locker room. And I don’t see how you then, say, make Jules whole with an extension and raise under that scenario without potentially impairing some other things the team may need to do to fill holes.

I’d love to see Tate here too but he’s never even been more productive than Jules really - this isn’t Julio Jones or OBJ we’re talking about, I think he is a very comparable player to Edelman.

Anyway I think Tavon Austin could be an interesting gadget type guy they could play with now that CP seems to be out. Maybe he can’t catch, limited route skill, but we said all those things about CP and he did some great things. Plus he can return kicks.

Big name WR's don't get traded...yeahhh. Lol. The Bengals are in rebuilding mode. They know they're not competing for a SB this year. I'm sure they'd entertain all offers for Green.
The Bengals have been treading water for 15 years, they aren't in rebuilding mode. Doubtful Green gets traded. Bengals are happy to win their 7 games a season.

Agree. Plus he'll be 31 in Aug. He's been tweaking the Steelers and Iggles on Twitter. His market might be slow in developing

He would need to redo his deal + extension but I'm not sure he'd want to
This kinda of linear thinking is not the reason. NFL and the cap evolved and BB evolved even faster.

Please list an example of BB paying a 31 year old player $12m.

Some things, regardless of time, are principals that do not evolve.

There seems to be a lot of Patriot type WRs in this draft. I think it probably better for them to draft and/or trade for one with reasonable (cheap) contract.

I haven't really dug into the players yet. Who are some of the names?

The thing I'm curious about is why did the NEP think Malcolm Mitchell had a chance here. What abilities did he demonstrate which gave the team a level of comfort with their selection? Which players in this draft show similar attributes?

He could run short to intermediate routes well and catch the ball, even in traffic.

Yep. Ability to run a variety of routes under various conditions. Man, zone, etc

One trick pony. I wouldn’t touch him.
2016 - 1059 yds./7 TD
2017 - 728yds./4 TD
2018 - 653 ,urs./5 TD
These stats are far away from describing him a one tricky pony in a conversation of WR2/3 and Hogan's replacement.

AJ Green might be a great candidate. We only need to convince the Bengals that they are dead in the water and they should have a fire sale.

Bad news: He will be 31 and has missed 13 games in the past 3 seasons.

Good news: By the time he goes on IR, Gordon should be back from suspension and Gronk should be back from retirement.

If he takes a pay cut from his $12m salary would consider a comp 3rd or 4th for him.
