Looking for the Flowers hit pieces too come out shortly!! Keep an eye on Curran's Twitter feed.
Curran is too busy helping Felger trash Bennet.

I think flowers may become the best player we’ve lost in the BB era

Better than Bledsoe, Seymour, mankins, (accounting for age, production after leaving, etc)

Better than Bledsoe and Mankins for sure. Seymour though was still production in Oakland. Had two Pro Bowl seasons there. And you forgot Asante Samuel who had three Pro Bowl seasons with Philadelphia.

Trey Flowers is an outstanding football player who made a big contribution to 3 teams that went to the Super Bowl. He’s an excellent technician and extremely versatile for a defensive lineman.

With that said, he’s not Richard Seymour or Vince Wilfork. If he were, he’d still be here because the Patriots would not have let either of those two players leave in their prime with only a comp pick to show for it.

Let’s not fret. History shows the Patriots kind of know what they’re doing.

The question is not whether Flowers is good or great, it is his value under the cap.

This is right. It’s being reported that Detroit’s offer blew away all other suiters. Deals like tha reek of desperation & almost never work out well for the team.

What is troubling is that there are so many Patriot coaches and front office personnel spread across the league that Patriot alumni is being overvalued.

Winning 6 Superbowls puts us all in a sanguine mood. Cannot imagine any other teams fanbase being so OK with a great player leaving and wishing him well.

It should, right? We'd have to be blind, willfully ignorant and ungrateful dingbats to not trust BB and company at this point to do the right thing.

I think MP is trying to get guys that buy into the Patriot (his way) to gain some credabilty, will it work for him? Not sure but it's not BBs way.

The only one of that group who went on to play well was Seymour.

Patricia and Quinn can’t run the cap and player acquisition areas like the patriots until they resemble the patriots.
Paying extra to get players that fit your system as a building block and supplementing with the draft is a way to get there. Managing a Sb roster and managing a poor roster are very different things.

I was pissed when they got rid of Seymour

It was tossed about that Bill had to pay Vince, but I felt we lost a lot losing Sey. The lack of a pass rush really hurt the D backs. Or so it appeared.

$18m/ yr - that's higher than initially reported
Wow! I know a lot of people on here think he is the best DE to ever walk the face of the earth, but this contract is laughable. Do you really think a signing like this is going to put the Lions over the top especially with Matt Stafford at QB?

Flowers will have unfair expectations and this contract will be scrutinized after a few seasons if the Lions don’t make the playoffs.

Miguel with the contract details.
