Lions Sign Amendola

People will still confuse facial recognition due to race, even in today’s day and age. I find that sad, especially since this poor guy is obviously either LeBron James or Grady from Sanford & Son.

I think we need someone like Dola to round out our core. I really like him as the #3. He is already in the Brady circle of trust. I would much prefer him to Patterson, Dorsett or Hogan. We are not at the stage where we are worrying about 3 or 4 years down the line. This year is all there is right now for me.

We need to cash in on Brady while we still can and that doesn't include a 3 or 4 year plan. It may not even include a 2 year plan. If he plays for 3 or 4 years that be great but if you worry about year 3 or 4 at the expense of this year in ANY WAY You're making a huge mistake IMO.

Well said.

Amendola is one of Brady’s most trusted WRs. If he still has some juice left to make a difference, don’t overthink it. Are there really going to be five better receivers and an army of young stars that get left out of the mix? Still been waiting since Branch in 2002 for them to draft a good WR who is an immediate standout and remains good for at least a few years.

If Dola want's to come back on his usual type deal then i'm all for it. You Pay him for those big game moments, he alongside Jules are incredible when it comes to making the big play when it matters most. I'd take him back, as long as the money makes sense.

Didn’t he all but admit that he was signing with the Jets during SB week in an interview with Mike Florio?

Love Dola too but not at his age I would rather have either: AJ Brown - Deebo Samuel - Isabella - Sills or Hunter Renfrow. All should excell in the Slot at the next level.

I also don't understand not wanting Amendola at the right price for the reason "we need to get younger at WR."

Beyond the assessment made by posters that "the window on Brady is closing and we need to win now", the Patriots still only have Edelman as a guarantee. Ok he's old, but they usually carry five anyway.

Even if Gordon is here, what's wrong with Edelman, Gordon, Amendola, FA, and a high draft pick. Then use the practice squad for maybe Berrios and another young player. If someone like Berrios or another young player is really good, things always work themselves out. It's not like this is a logjam.

I understand why one would not want Hogan with Danny or maybe even Patterson, but Cordarrelle could be a sixth WR, fifth RB, kick off returner and maybe they carry one less offensive lineman or work something else out. Yes they might be a bit too old than you might want if you were Cleveland or KC, but the next QB might work well with different types of receivers than Brady anyway.

We want #7 NOW. What gets us there?

It’s possible they could have both, I suppose, although I tend to side with your thinking.

AJ Brown is underrated. Better than Metcalf imo. If Pats can get him, huge upgrade to Hogan/Dorsett

Maybe its me, but I find it kind of funny when these teams throw big money at Patriots players, they leave.....and then after a year cut ties.

Either way, I would take Dola back. Guy is as clutch as they come and you cant coach that. Would rather have a reliable guy like danny

Dont forget he returns punts too, which is a need as theyve had to stick Edelman back there which id rather not do.

Metcalf is a ManChild he's the reason why they moved AJ Brown in the Slot. The Pats have missed on WR's before but I think if they zero in on what they want they can success. Get a Slot and a Outside the numbers guy. Brady is probably getting a Three to Four year extension so I feel he can wait on a young guy to develop. Most times it takes Two years it's worth the wait imo.

Andelman is 33 and Mike Bennett is 33.

The welcome wagon is out for Bennett, but Andelman is too old. Why would you not want a WR who knows the offense and is trusted by Brady.

I would inquire of Randall Cobb before I even give Dola a thought. If healthy Cobb is a superior player and a lot younger in reality: but how his body might feel can be debated Cobb I mean. Cobb also have a punt returners history.

I think the Pats will pass on Both why?? Great year to get a Top Flight TE and WR through the Draft. We can't dodge that avenue forever and I can't see us paying Humphries or Tate $10+Mill per.

Well they will pass on Andelman. He's too busy with the Hot Dog Safari

That's not how I interpreted that at all. He was just saying Jamal Adams is his friend.

A rookie WR or TE would see very little action his first year. I do think they should
draft one or two of each to develop.
