Patriots coaching staff.... What's going on???

They will take their cue from The Masked Singer and all new assistant coaches will wear ornate costumes that keep them anonymous.

My guess is (and I'm purely speculating here), that the responsibilities of the position coaches are primarily day to day instruction and communication of concepts. So once you have your Offensive and Defensive coordinators, everyone else can kind of be in flux during the team building part of the off season. I highly doubt, for example, that Brendan Daly had a lot of direct input into what happens on draft day. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not ready to panic yet. I'll worry if they're going into OTA's and Steve Belichick is the only defensive assistant.

It's well know that position coaches for the Patriots have a say in player evaluation. The "Do Your Job" video confirms it. The books about this team that have come out mention it because it was mentioned that Daboll and Fears didn't want Jackson and Maroney respectively and that McDaniels did and BB went with McDaniels over them and the scouts.

I don't understand your issue. Do you think just because they have not send out a press release that they have not replaced anyone yet ? They will quietly update the positions on the website whenever they are required to do so and that is it. But I would be shocked if most of the positions have not been filled for weeks.

You honestly believe that the Patriots hiring their position coaches wouldn't be announced as soon as it happens? As if the league office wouldn't let it leak?

The Patriots didn't have enough coaching assistants last year to fill in the 4 non coordinator positions. What makes you think that they've filled them? Hell, we knew immediately when Steve Belichick was promoted.

And why hasn't Schiano been officially confirmed if he was truly going to be the DC? Why wait? It provides ZERO benefit to the team to delay announcements.

I also find it odd about the coaching vacancies. It’s not an issue so to speak, we all know BB knows what the hell he’s doing, just as an outsider, days before the combine, not a lot of official announcments this far into the process is all. Unusual.

Yes. That has been par for the course for many years. There were rumors all through the combine and draft that Bielema was working as a coach for the Pats and it never got confirmed until the first OTAs. They just don't care telling people those things until they have to.

BB might let you wash the vegetable; he ain't let you cook the prime rib.

Seems like the biggest issue is Flores got hired by Miami and took a few guys with him.

Then bb went outside the organization for a new dc and Daly might have felt passed over and left the organization.

These things happen to every organization, except the jets and browns maybe.

Also Dalys family is from KC and Spagnulo was his mentor originally so it makes sense for him to leave.

Don’t sweat it. I’ve got the list of new coaches

Offensive coordinator- McDaniels
Head coach B.B.
defense coach B.B.
wide receiver coach B.B.
special teams coach B.B.

Lol

Fair, but those were both veteran coaches that had been in the organization before weren't they? I doubt anyone they bring in tomorrow is going to be given a lot of weight in scouting and team building. One would think they need at least a year in the system before they can adequately advise on what players will fit it.

Yeah but so are the Krafts. I think Caserio has much more to do with the draft process than Ernie does.

There will be one less Kraft in the draft room this year.

Just guessing, but I would think other franchises whose fan base desperately needs some good news would quickly release press releases for new coaching hires.

BB will make sure everything works itself out. I am only concerned about who replaces Scar in the future. For years I used to say players do not get better over time with us. Defensive backs for years never looked back for the ball, receivers never got the system etc, but oline constantly saw improvement. I've witnessed guys like Neal blossom and udfa like Wendell and Connolly become worthy starters over time.
