Martellus Bennett Comeback SZN?

This looks like Bennett just making fun of Witten coming back. Marty is not un-retiring and it also means nothing in terms of Gronk.

I get that some people might confused but if you look at it through the prism of Witten the whole thing just looks like a joke. The thing that Marty has been known for.

Yup, the OP (and others) fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

That's a ridiculous thing to assume when you haven't seen Bennett in over a year.

And a year for a guy who keeps himself in good shape is so 1984.

He couldn't even say it with a straight face. Nothing to see here, unfortunately.

Mr. Bennet was thisclose to being the goat in the Superbowl against Atlanta. The second to last play of OT he slipped in the end zone on a perfect throw from Tom. It was almost a pic by Vic Beasly. Enjoy your retirement.

100%. Guy’s entire career is 1 big tease.

Martellus is one of those guys.. where you wonder why he had such a hard time fitting in everywhere he went except the pats. He seems like such a smart, funny, motivated guy.
Watch the E:60 documentary of the bennett brothers. Explains it all.

Marty was a great blocker. Pair him and Gronk together and bamn best blocking TE's in the league.

I Love Bennett, one of the most entertaining guys we've had here.

Marty is almost as entertaining as Talib would be if we could understand more of what Qib says. TBH after years of hearing it I can still only interpret about 1/3 of what he says but I'm still vastly entertained when he speaks.

With Allen and Gronkowski (if we can keep both), I’d feel like the best insurance policy is another good running back to capitalize on the blocking. Michel is really good, and I’d hate to see an injury and needing put some scrub back there, or an undersized third down back. Need another powerful, all-purpose runner. Obviously doesn’t need to be a superstar but perhaps an aging vet. This power running game could be a real thing, long-term.

"He was funny! He was weird! He was entertaining! Must sign him again!"

marty was great here back in the day, but how many times has a player coming out of retirement actually worked out? It’s doubtful that he could pass the physical.

Props to him for gutting out 2016 while injured, including a solid performance in the super bowl. 5 catches for 62 yards and drew a pi to give us 1st and goal at the 1.

This appears to be a joke though
