but almost as much if the cops saw sex trafficking why does the sting continue?

This question won't be asked at all because the sting got at least 1 headline name But it is absolute bullsh*t because that's exactly why it continued instead of being completely shut down so they could make easy arrests and potentially land headline names.

Yet we got people in this very thread because they hate Kraft not thinking this is an issue and the cops did nothing wrong in that regard.

Who else is sweating bullets right now?

He says ESPN is the source but I don't see anything on their website or Twitter feed alleging this. Maybe it was on TV? It sounded like Kraft was the big fish judging from the initial law enforcement statement.

Law enforcement should use their resources to go after the head of the snake, not busting decent senior citizen widowers for rub and tugs.
this is how you stop these places actually.. And they are in fact very seriously bad crimes happening to these trafficked women.

Unfortunately for him, Bob Kraft getting busted is part of the solution of this scourge of a problem

RE: the Sex Trafficking stuff, that upsets me.

It upsets me that sex trafficking is happening. But almost as much if the cops saw sex trafficking why does the sting continue? I don't give a **** about some old bastard paying $50 for a happy ending but if cops see sex trafficking going on why doesn't the sting stop right there and they go after the people who are running the parlor?
Because in the country within which we live, you have to gather large amounts of evidence in order to successfully prosecute something like this. That's just how law enforcement works in the real world.

"According to the Yelp reviews for the Orchids of Asia Day Spa, massages can cost up to $80. Many in the reviews, which are largely mixed, say that customers were also automatically charged a tip. The website for the spa has a slogan reading, “A Full-Service Day Spa with a Touch of the Orient.” The website advertises an “Early Bird” special offering an hour-long massage for $64."

Comments:

a.) Did not read the whole thread.

b.) Cops say it's all on video and Kraft denied it through a spokes person.

c.) Say Kraft is on video....I think a six game suspension is to be expected.

d.) Thank god it wasn't a player.....SO FAR.....

I find it hard to believe you're that dense but I'll spell it out for you: The point is many of these women were not there voluntarily or consenting to work as prostitutes. They were intimidated and forced against their will after being brought to the US on false pretenses of legitimate job opportunities (according to official law enforcement statements about the investigation). It's a standard tactic when it comes to sex trafficking.
It’s a freaking Asian massage parlor, dude. They’ve been around for decades. People go in to get a massage and the opportunity for a happy ending can sometimes present itself. They’re in every town in America. Forever.

Stop with the “what are we going to tell the children” narrative.

That only makes him complicit in the same sense that you eating meat that you know was raised and slaughtered in inhumane, cruel ways makes you complicit in animal cruelty. I can't believe I'm defending a billionaire here, but I can say with confidence he's not a goddamn human trafficker.

Eh, I think it's a bit more complicated than that. The guy could have easily got himself a * in any number of ways that he could be pretty damn certain weren't tied to human trafficking, but instead he went to some place called "Orchids of Asia" spa to get serviced by women who spoke zero English. There's enough red flags that if it somehow didn't click with him that he was likely supporting human trafficking, it could only be because he basically didn't care enough to notice what was staring him right in the face.

And I do get your point here, that you could make similar arguments that people who eat meat are supporting animal cruelty, or people who bought weed prior to a couple years ago were supporting cartel violence, or people who wear Nikes are supporting sweatshop conditions, but this seems meaningfully different in ways I'm having a bit of trouble articulating. Maybe because there were a bunch of alternatives available, maybe because of direct proximity to the crime, maybe because sex trafficking is even more messed up of a crime.

Whoever disliked/disagreed with my comment, wake up. he goes to a spa full of asian women. do you really think Bob didn’t know they were traffiked? most of these places are like that.

You come off as trying to frame it as if Kraft went there with having 100% knowledge all the workers there were indebted sex workers

Since some of you don't get what the big deal is because you can't be bothered to read a news article:

The charges against Mr. Kraft, 77, were part of a broad investigation into prostitution and human trafficking in day spas and massage parlors in Florida. The police say the parlors were used for prostitution, and that many of the women involved were considered to be victims.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, and resulted in raids and arrests connected to nearly a dozen businesses in the region this week. At least one person, Lanyun Ma, 49, was charged with human trafficking.

All of the sexual encounters that have resulted in charges were videotaped as part of the investigation, the police said. The police, who said they had been investigating massage parlors in the area for six months, arrested “nearly 200” people, though only 25 have been charged so far.

Mr. Kraft was said to have patronized a spa called Orchids of Asia, in Jupiter. The police said Mr. Kraft visited a spa in Jupiter twice, dropped off by a driver.

Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Charged in Florida Prostitution Sting

Vero Beach police chief David Currey said many came from China on temporary work visas, indebted to the the brokers who helped them reach America, but believing legitimate jobs awaited them.

“Some of them are trying to make a better life for themselves,” he said. “These people truly are stuck.”

They were shamed, intimidated and taught not to speak to law enforcement or immigration officials.

Others answered what they thought were legitimate ads for masseuse jobs, but soon were pressured into doing more.

Do they have actual proof that he did something illegal there?

IDK. Bob strikes me as a bit naive, despite his riches, and this little episode (and everyone's comments about why would a billionaire even visit a place like this) just confirms it. Not that I would visit such a place, but the first thing that would come to my mind is not, "hmmm, I wonder if all these ladies are victims of human trafficking?"
Who knows. Maybe he figured with his power he could get away with this. Or to your point he is so insulated and out of touch with reality he didn't even think that this place harbored/employed slaves or was being watched by the cops. Who knows.

I'm not passing judgement on his sexual needs but for Christ's Sake he couldn't have been a little more discreet? He can't pay $1000 for a escort?

Get ready for a new owner.

The NFL has been looking for a way to break up the Pats and here it is. The other owners will want the Kraft name out. Sex trafficking is as bad as it gets and dont be shocked to see minors involved.

The Krafts are through in the NFL.
