6'3" 205, ran the same 40 as Dorsett at the combine (4.35). Big receivers don't work in the WCO typically, which is why I don't think he had a great run in KC. Really good blocker, excellent locker room guy. Also, is BFFs with Sony Michel. And you'll be able to get him for short term and short money, most likely.

This is the kind of FA move I see the Patriots doing, and everyone (not EVERYONE, but you know who you are), throwing up their hands in disgust that he's not OBJ. I think he has Brandon LaFell potential (possibly better, but we'll see), and that's not half-bad in this offense.

Beckham is a perfect example of diva WR not correlating at all the winning.
In 5 years he has been there and has certainly been a centerpiece of the team, they have made the playoffs one time and went one and done getting blown out while he caught 4/11 targets for 28 yards. Their second best season with him is 6-10.
In 59 career games he has 24 100+ games and his team is 8-16. (They are 17-18 when he plays and doesn’t have 100).
He has had 5 150+ games, none in the last 2 years, and only 3 in the last 4 years, so people who say he can take over a game must mean once in a great while. They are 2-3 when he gets 150+.
The negatives this guy brings outweigh the impact on winning a WR can have, which is one of the reasons his team never wins.

The most important ability for a player on the Patriots is "coachability". A guy who won't drink water because it hurts his tummy doesn't seem to fit that mold.

Has he tried adding a lemon in it?

And it failed.
You will have a hard time finding many bad attitude guys that Belichick brought in. One is a mistake not a philosophy.
Doesn’t change the fact that attitude and discipline issues aren’t enough to keep BB away. He won’t sign that player to a long term deal but he will give them a shot because he wants to win.

Yes I have been pounding for Conley he could really do something in this offense.
Gordon Conley Edelman a rook
Or Edelman Gordon Conley we could do worse.

I brought up Conley on Chiefs Planet and they say he is horrible at getting separation.

I don't think it's realistic to expect Gordon back or count on him.

If we do pair Edelman with Conley and a competent rookie receiver we are good to go though.

Either does a guy who went rogue on his team and set out to attack josh Norman just because he wasn’t winning the battle.

Aqib Talib says hi. Despite all of his on-the-field incidents, BB would still take him back, if the need is there and the price is right. He loves Talib, despite his personality warts, because his teammates like him, he works hard in practice and competes his ass off in games. I may be wrong but I think that BB would feel the same way about OBJ and I would bet that OBJ would be a different person in the Patriots environment. I also find it interesting that Beckham pursued TB12 for a jersey, showing the respect he has for greatness in general and Brady in particular. The two seem to genuinely like and respect each other.

I respectfully disagree, unless that rookie can step in and be a WR2 right away. otherwise, that is a pathetic wide receiver corps. The TB12 window is closing within 2 years. They should be surrounding him with better weapons, not worse. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pats make an offer to Conley, because I know that they liked him coming out of college (I can remember a video of BB putting him through a rigorous work out one-on-one), but the guy had a chance to step up this year when Watkins was injured and he did not look like someone who could be anything more than a WR3/4, despite playing in one of the most high powered offenses in NFL history. He had a decent year in terms of touchdowns, in part because defenses focused on Hill and Kelce but only exception 4 catches in a game once all year. I personally would rather re-sign Dorsett than sign Conley.

They are certainly a major factor, and he believes guy with attitude and disipline issues make it harder to win regardless of their talent. The fact that there is one example in 20 years pretty much proved what he values and that he made one mistake.
It’s like saying he values small quick LBs because once he signed one.

Talib and beckham are night and day different in this regard.
Talib has off the field issues. His commitment to football, winning and team were never a question. I couldn’t care less about Beckham’s off field issues, it’s the need to draw attention to himself, put himself before the team and think that all it’s about it his stats and publicity that matter.

Perhaps you are forgetting that minor incident involving a chain ripped off an opponents neck, with a one game suspension.

Also: On November 8, 2015, Talib poked the eye of Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen late in the fourth quarter of the Broncos' 27–24 loss. The Broncos were given a 15-yard penalty with the Colts receiving a first down and ended any chance of a comeback by the Broncos. Talib was later suspended for the Broncos' Week 10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Also: In the first half, he was penalized 15-yards for viciously grabbing the face mask of wide receiver Corey Brown to prevent him from scoring a touchdown. Later, Talib admitted to reporters that he committed the face-mask penalty on purpose.[53][54] Talib was fined $26,044 for the intentional face-mask on Brown and taunting the opponent.

But don’t let the facts get in the way of your argument.

Sure, but having Edelman-Conley-rookie with the possibility of Gordon would seem to be an improvement over the complete garbage they trotted out there, this year. I’m impressed as hell that they won the SB with that piss poor group of receiving options.

It was great to see old school physical football in the trenches, and the running game + defense saved us. I don’t think the bar was set very high with the WR group last year, so it shouldn’t be hard to top it. Their cap space is limited, so I’m certainly not expecting a bigger name. It will likely be an improvement from the draft and some type of lower/middle tier in free agency. If they are able to bring any of Patterson, Hogan, or Dorsett back on reasonable deals as lower level WR depth options, all the better.

So Belichick took these future events into consideration when trading for talib?
Don’t let facts get in the way of your argument though.

Aside from that these issues are nowhere near the same ilk as Beckham’s.

re: OBJ.

Could the team benefit from that kind of talent? Absolutely.

Does the team need that kind of narcissism which comes with that talent? Nope.

Could BB, Tom and perhaps Jules keep his me-me-me persona in check? Likely.

Here is the thing. This offense is at its best when Tom does not feel he needs to "get players involved" and feed them to keep them engaged. A guy like OBJ does that to a QB.

If you could take the selfless brains and heart of JE, Deion and even Gronk and put it in OBJs body I'd take him.

Golden Tate is the guy we need. Not OBJ.

you call it pathetic but what is your suggestion to give Brady a competent WR corps?
