Josh Gordon To Receive Super Bowl LIII Ring

I’m not going down this road again. I think it starts as a choice and the whole board told me I don’t understand addiction.

And the reason you don't understand addiction is that you think it matters how it starts.

Blamecasting for addiction is about as useful as blamecasting for type II diabetes, or heck, blamecasting for teen pregnancy, but people do, far more than they should. As if they can shame the addict into behaving himself when they're really adding more pressure while taking away their customary escape mechanism.

Would be a truly great and classy gesture.

.

What nonsense.

I'm glad Flash Gordon is getting a ring, its a no brainer that he deserves one after contributing significantly in 11 games no less.

But why should the 150+ other Pats personnel and their guests have to go out of their way because one guy has an issue? Should Kraft also make similar gestures for every other Pat who has an issue or some struggle?

He earned his ring, and he's going to get it. Great. Let's not get carried away (like the 'Win it for Josh' thread ).

I'm sure Gordon will cherish his new ring.

If Gordon is reinstated by Goodell (not necessarily a given), I feel he will probably need to sit out some games (probably at least 8 games), so he would most likely not be ready until mid season and would be playing catch up.

The guy played 11 games, and was a key producer in several of those. There was never ever ever any question as to whether he should get a ring. It's not even up for debate. Are people here actually debating this???

This reality of this hits me more and more the longer I’ve lived next to Cambridge.
For me it's the more time I spend in states outside of the northeast.

One for the roach finger

“Blamecasting”? I look at it this way: if you smoke cigarettes for 30 years and you get lung cancer it sucks but you knew you that was the risk you run when you picked up the first cigarette. Does that person “deserve” lung cancer? No. No one deserves something bad to happen to them but at the same time you did it to yourself.

very well deserved Josh !!! all the best and good luck...i still hope he can have a future in Foxboro

Why is that?

During the Ideal Gas Law debauchery staged by Goodell and his 345 minions, found it interesting how much compassion they were showing to Josh at the same time.. while Brady was sent to Siberia, Josh was able to practice with Cleveland during his suspension(s).

He has already been suspended indefinitely on Dec. 20, so he has already missed 5 games(inc. playoffs)..

As a fan I am rooting for this guy as I hope he does not become another statistic on a government chart, instead being a great story who was able to manage which looks like his dual diagnosis of depression and addiction..

If Gordon is reinstated by late spring/early summer or even training camp, I don’t see any reason why he’d have to miss any games.

It would be great to get a full TC out of him.

If he's reinstated and could do a TC with us even if Goodhell gives him 8 games I would rather have Gordon for the last 8 and not the other way around. Hated what happened to us and him last year. We would been more lethal in the Playoffs with him. Also Gordon learned our Offense in no time it seems. Going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

The defense for not having alcohol at a party seems to be "one" guy. There is more than one person out of the entire gathering has an alcohol problem. We are just focussing on Josh. Yes, there should be alcohol at the party. Not having it is not a big deal, although, if it is huge deal.....hmmmmmmmm.
