OT: Jump Ball Joe Flacco to the Broncos

Until the Bowlen family gets their chit together, this franchise is rudderless. Elway might be an average GM, but the fish rots from the head. Flacco is clearly not the answer, and it seems clear to me the Elway isn't the answer, either. The Bowlens won't move on from Elway until one of them wrestles control of the team.

Elway is enamored by Herbert from Oregon, who declined to come out this year instead opting to stay for his senior year. If Bronco's get him in next year's draft, he will dump both Keenum and Flacco in a minute.
In the meantime, I shall enjoy every minute of mediocrity from Broncos for the next two years, as they waste away Von Miller and that defense.

- Unsure if Flacco is an upgrade over Keenum....but yeah...he throws a better deep ball.

- Do the Broncos have the personnel for a deep ball thrower? Emmanuel Sanders isn't exactly a deep threat burner.....

- What do the Broncos do with Keenum now?

- Can't really blame Elway....Flacco would have ended up in Jacksonville if he didn't make the trade now, IMO. And I think the bidding for Foles will be too high for the Broncos.

- The Broncos are drafting a QB....but Elway's track record is no good: Paxton Lynch, Case Keenum, Joe Flacco, and etc... only Peyton Manning worked out...BARELY.

They will trade/cut Kennum. They save $11m on the cap if hes gone.

Something tells me this is not an awful move. Flacco certainly has flaws, but I think a change of scenery could get something out of him in the short run. And if the Denver defense jells, he does not have to be all-world. I think he is an improvement over Keenum.

Agree that If he’s healthy he should be Better than the 2018 version of Keenum. I would hope they feel they can trade Keenum because if they can’t your likely looking at a swap of flacco +10 mil cap hit for the release of Keenum.

It’s been a long time since Flacco played better than what Keemun has dine the last 2 years.

Once again it seems the jags will be content to not do anything at QB. The crop in the draft is weak and we need a veteran one year stop gap IMO.

Stat wise they’re pretty much equal based on Keenums 2018 season. I wouldn’t have made this deal unless a deal with another team for Keenum was already in place.

I still think you guys are very much in play for foles. And at this point that’s a better alternative than flacco.

Unless they renegotiate his contract I really have no idea what the Broncos are doing. Flacco has typically been a top 20ish type regular season QB. He did step it up in the post season but the Broncos do not appear to be a playoff team so I do not get it. Replacing Keenum seems to be about a wash in my perspective.
