Hogan had some big moments here but I think this will be a mutual seperation.

I think he's headed to NJ. His wife and twins live in NY or maybe even NJ I forget exactly where. So he probably headed to his fourth AFCE team.

Hogan seems like a great guy and I really want him to do well, but other than a few teasingly great plays, he just can't seem to get open. I would be very surprised if he was back next year.

No catch

He did not control the ball before it hit the ground. Pats got away with one. KC was holding so screw them.

Yep, he lost a step this year and didn’t get the separation he did before. When he started slow I thought it was because he was getting more attention than he was used to, but things didn’t change much with Edelman back.

Good run, time to move on.

For the right price, I would like to see Hogan back. We know he can "ball" and Brady does have a rapport with him. I think there was more behind the scenes he was dealing with than we'll know, but he would be a healthier version this year.

His wife is out on Long Gisland.

He was so huge in SB 51. I think if Amendola comes back, we can let Hogan go.

The replay didn't show that definitively or it would've been overturned. One end of the ball appears to touch the ground but he had the other end cradled between arm and chest. The catch was legit.

Unlike others here I have no problem with Hogan. I recall several bad throws by Brady when he was open this season and the Rams blanketed him in the Super Bowl per their game plan.

Ignore my ignorance
Hogan = 2019 FA

That was pretty huge, but he also had a drop right before the dee ford play that almost ended our season, instead of first down in the red zone. Wasn’t the easiest catch but should have been caught.

All that said he was a clutch performer for us in 16 and 17. Unfortunately he doesn’t have that kind of playmaking ability anymore or any sort of deep threat, which really helped in that 16 afcd vs Houston when they were giving Brady problems underneath.

I think the Pats need to find an upgrade over Hogan. They need a WR1 or WR2 who can sometimes be a WR1. Thats why the promise Josh brought to the team was really nice.

Bottom line is they really need to invest in the WR position. While very possible, expecting Jules at 33 to put up 100/1100 next year is a lot to ask for.

Keep Cord and Dorsett for reasonable dollars. Find 2 really good WRs. Maybe one is a vet via trade and another is another Malcolm Mitchell with good knees.

Moving on seems right. All said, he's over-performed the UFDA, LaCrosse-playing, practice-squad level player you'd guess he'd be entering the league, and congrats and thanks to him on earning two rings. Or bring him to camp and see if this was just a so-so year. His 2018 stats were pretty in line with his career here.

Does Hogan play on Special Teams? I believe l see him on some?

I love Hogans attitude and competitiveness however things would have been much easier down the stretch with a receiver who could get open double covered 20+ yards outside the numbers.

How does this "mutual" separation play out?

Pats: We've cut Hogan
Hogan's rep: Ok

Pats: Take a pay cut or we cut Hogan
Hogan's rep: We accept the pay cut

Pats: Take a pay cut or we cut Hogan
Hogan's rep: No
Pats: Bye bye

I wonder what Hogan's value in the FA market would be given his 2019 inability to create separation, his loss of trust from Brady, his 0-6 SB stat line.
Vet minimum?

It's anyone's guess what caused Hogan's decline?
Played in all 19 games so blaming injury seems a stretch.....though remotely possible.
Lack of deep threat in 2019 (no Cooks) exposed Hogan....plausible
Physical decline.....plausible
Inaccurate QB.....at times....but lack of separation was a constant

Prediction: NE requests a 2019 salary restructure and Hogan accepts.
2019 WR depth
He's a free agent. Mutual as in I don't think he wants to stay and I don't think we want him back. I think/hopefully no hard feelings just a mutual separation.
