Almost a week since the SB and I'm still high as a kite over this victory.
This is the happiest I've ever been after a SB.
I know. The 1st one shoulda made me happier.
Or '04, making it 3 outta 4 and an official freakin' dynasty.
Or the Seahawks game. Heartstopping.
Brady just mindbogglingly good.
Or the Falcons. Cripes, you couldn't write a Hollywood script like that.
But I can't explain it.
This has been the best. Maybe it was the physical, smashmouth style.
Maybe it was because it was the most dominating defensive game EVER played in a Super Bowl.
Think about that.
Not the 85 bears. Not the 60s Packers.
Not the Bob Lilly et al Cowboys.
Not the 70s steel curtain.
Not the early 90's LT/BB ny giants.
Not the Sapp bucs.
Not the murderers ravens.
Not the legion of boom.
Maybe it was all the doubters.
Damn, I LOVE this TEAM.
Maybe the most Patriot team of all Patriot teams.
I can't explain it.
But I'm still high as a kite.

Still on a high as well. For me - the most satisfying was 49. But love the fact that we got the 6th. Tied with the Stoolers!

Nothing wrong with it.

Soak it all in.

Why even try explaining it? Why not just enjoy it?

My added excitement has come from the fact that theres nothing left to chase. We are tied for the most sb wins as a franchise with a legitimate opportunity to create more separation from the other 31 teams. This supposedly was the year to topple the Patriots and we overcame the greatest degree of difficulty in playoff opponents to bring the lombardi back to 1 Patriot Place. Its also an added bonus that patriot haters in the national media had to scrap their patriot obituaries for at least another year.

My excitement is Brady Belichick McDaniels a coach Belichick has publically endorsed in Schiano.
Edelman and Gronk should be back.
Michel should be more recovered from his injury.
We will be adding Wynn Berrios Dawson and 2 young linebackers to a loaded roster.
Not to mention we have 12 draft picks which will be wheeled and dealed.

Last but not least we have the Etling Gun with a year in the system.
Great time to be a Pats fan!
The quest for lucky number 7 let's go!

I'm just ridin' the waves, dudes & dudettes.

Tied for the nfl lead in Super Bowls, so it is a historic win when you think about it. And we most likely have a 2-3 year window as one of the top favorites to win the super bowl, giving us pretty decent odds to become the leader.

I’m still high too. I know what you mean bro. My only guess is that now I can shut up people who scream Steelers! Ok, we’re tied. Then they’ll say we cheated then I point out four of their rings were on the juice.

I am not sure this was the most dominating defensive performance. You have to give credit where it is due to 2 Super Bowl defenses that played a full game without giving up any points: Miami in Super Bowl VII and Baltimore in Super Bowl XXXV. In each of those games, the only opponent points came on special teams.

In Super Bowl VII Washington had 16 first downs to Miami’s 12, and 228 net yards while Miami had 253 total yards of offense. So not a dominating defense. Just a very old-school game lacking offense in general. Miami had 3 INTs, but that’s big plays not a dominant suffocating defense. So I’ll still say the Pats in LIII were more dominant on defense.

Overtaking the Steelers in all time postseason wins makes it even better. When you take that into account + the short window in which it was done in (17 yrs, not 44), and factor in the overall winning percentage, it’s obvious that NE has leapfrogged PIT even though they both have six.

.....THEN you remember how we beat them 3x in the AFCCG to win the SB each time (2001, 2004, 2016) and it’s like icing on the cake.

This one is pretty sweet, my favorite stat were the 13 3rd down tries by this high flying offense that only gained 13 yard and 3 1st downs.. that I will savor for a while.. then there are the highlights.. J. McCourty, Van Noy, Hightower, Gronk, Michel on and on... then there is Brady and Edelman... all under the leadership of BB...

The sweetest for me was Superbowl XXXVI, their first as it was something I never thought I would see in my lifetime.. even though there are "sore butts" among the losers of that game who want to taint that victory .. went to the rally afterward outside of Boston City Hall, was the largest and scariest crowd I have ever been in..
