Gronk??

Kelce
Kittle
Ertz

Kelce is just a big reciever, he cant and rarely asked to block. That's half the job of a TE, so no, Kelse isn't better than Gronk because he put up good fantasy numbers...

I can't believe people still undervalue a well rounded TE...

I disagree you can plainly see that Gronk has lost a step a lot of his initial quickness off the LOS that made him Great is gone. Yes the Defense must respect him but he's definitely on the decline but I think he could still be Great coupled with a young TE not named Jacob Hollister:rolleyes: who can block and catch.

We will have to see....IMO it was all injuries...not declining skill set/speed. Yes, he is 29 years old..not 22....but I'd expect speed to decline around 32-33 years old.

Does he go out with Brady and Edelman?? Or does he call it a career?? Part of me want him to go the other selfish side of me wants him to stay.

Thoughts...
None of me wants him to go

Better question is what will the team pay him for another year or two, I doubt they pay him 11 mill.

If he retires or not pretty cool that his career would only be with the Patriots. Since he stated he will only catch passes from TB or retire. Greatest TE ever and his whole career with the Pats:D

I think the idea that he' be an "action star" in hollywood is ludicrous. Some agent is telling him this probably. Can he even act?

I think his family wants him to do a kardashian/duck dynasty type show where they just follow him around filming his scripted "antics". That way they can hitch a ride on the gravy train too. It might work. Kind of pathetic though.

He's coming back and still every bit the monster that we know he is. I actually expect an injury free bounce back season with fairly solid numbers!

I remember my first year watching football

I think he's done. It's a question of economics. Once the Pats want to reduce his $$, then it's Hollywood vs Foxboro. Even if Foxboro is more $$ now, long term, he's going to get to the point where Hollywood will far outweigh what he can earn in the NFL.

Let's say they want to bring him back for like 17m for 2 years. Then retire. He can go to Hollywood and earn, what, maybe half or a third of that in two years? But then it's year 3-5 where he can cash in. Plus health concerns. I think he's going to follow The Rock's playbook and make himself into a bonafide box office draw. He needs to go lay (pun intended) the ground work now and then cash in when he's in his late 30's and early 40's. It's a long term plan IMO.

That doesn't even weigh the social scene for him, and we have no idea what kind of pressure his GF is applying on him, one way or the other.

The wild card is Tom. If Tom can talk him into a couple years, and Bill gives him a schedule like Bavaro had, then maybe he stays.

I don't think Gronk's worth as much in Hollywierd as many people think. Plus, he can still make those plans for later in life in a couple of years.

The only person that I see pressuring Gronk to leave football is Mark Wahlberg, the Pats fan who quit on the team vs Atlanta in the SB.

I also think that he still loves football.

Hear hear on that.

He's an absolutely devastating blocker and the last pass he caught was the clincher in the SB against a triple team.

What kind of loser throws a full beer can at a Patriot let alone one of all time great Patriots during a parade celebrating the teams championship?

A drunken fool.

He runs the play that called.

He blocks.

...Gronkowski said after Super Bowl LIII that he’d make a call on playing another season in a week or two. It’s been a couple of weeks since the Patriots beat the Rams and Gronkowski’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said on Tuesday that a call will take a little more time.

“He’s thinking it through, he’s giving it a lot of thought. . . . I imagine a decision will happen in the next couple of weeks,” Rosenhaus said on ESPN...

Drew Rosenhaus thinks Gronk decision will happen in next couple of weeks

I would say it's 60/40 that Gronk retires. I think he would've already announced if he was coming back.

Just my two cents.

Atleast he'll let us know before the start of FA.

He literally says in this Jimmy Fallon interview from last night that "we're getting good practicing for next season" in regards to dodging beer cans at the parade.

He's coming back.

Much as I'd love that, it was clearly a tongue in cheek remark.

I see him walking away... injuries + many SB rings + all kinds of ops in the entertainment industry.
This has pretty much been my opinion all along.

Gronk obviously already knows whether he wants to play next season or retire. I think his agent gave a couple of weeks as a window because Gronk wants some incentive to come back. $$$$$$
