One: people at work are claiming it’s cheating to line up in a defense that no one has seen before. I’m not sure about this but guys are comparing it to that Baltimore game where certain alignments were quasi legal.

Two. They are also claiming that Brady’s legacy is harmed by winning?????

How’s that even possible? I’d have been happy with 6-3 pats and couldn’t be convinced that it harms brady to get more rings. It seems like utter non sense

The defense doesn't have any line up rules that I am aware of other than "stay onsides"!
So what could be never seen before?

BB has already done the everybody standup and mill around years ago and lining up with DL in stance (3/4 pt) across from the OL and DBs/LBs on the wides is de rigueur and old hat.

If these were friends, I'd say find smarter ones. Since these are coworkers, either start putting in for promotions to fire the morons or change jobs-sell the stock cause if they are so stupid on the job, the company ain't good for long.

Freakin' people with their nonsensical arguments. Lined up a D the Rams never seen, they scream "that's not fair!!" Sounds like someone with zero understanding of football. Tom Brady's legacy is hurt by winning?!?!?! That may be the single dumbest thing I have ever hear. Not even Cliff Kellerman would roll with that.

It’s the second dumbest thing I ever heard. Number one is my ex wife asking if nick berg was going to be ok after they be headed him I Iraq.

I meant football/patriots hate related. It's not even on the scale compared to this.

Say what? That really makes no sense at all. Innovation is what keeps the league fresh, and it's never illegal to use a new defense as long as the defense itself is legal.

Nothing quasi legal about the Baltimore formations. They were 100% legal at the time, anyone else could have done the same thing if they'd thought of it first.

No, I really don't understand that one. Something tells me these guys are just frustrated that no one can take a 41 year old Brady to school. At a certain point it's just not worth arguing with people.

Who do you work with? The 2004 Philadelphia Eagles?

If by quasi-legal, you mean perfectly legal, then that’s what the Patriots did. However, the play which I suspect you are referring to against Baltimore was an offensive formation.

There are virtually no rules to how the defense can line up. All 11 defenders can be anywhere on their side of the LOS and they can all be moving at the snap as much as they want (contrasted to the rules for offense saying you have to have 7 men on the LOS and only 1 man can be moving and that can’t be in the forward direction).

The only rule for defense is they can’t simulate a snap or yell out loud in an attempt to “confuse” the offense into a false start. There are also different rules for special teams.

Most people don't understand the game of football

Advice: Don't work in Indiana. They have a surprising number of hicks living in their car parked down by the "crick" who argue all day long that Peyton Manning is the GOAT and that the Earth is flat.

did they also say the SB win is tainted because the refs didn't tell Dee Ford he was in the neutral zone in the AFCCG?

Why dignify such asinine ideas?
