I'm in the same boat. My kids have no clue who the gen-1 players are unless they're in the media now, IE Harrison, McGinist, Bruschi....and they only know that they played for the Patriots not what they meant to the team and fans.

Yep. They can't help when they were born but I think for them to REALLY appreciate the ridiculous 2011-present run, as a Pats fan it's important to know all about the 01-07 team and how bad ass and resilient they were. They were the foundation for what is happening now.

You are making it decisive and its not.

And "Dynasty 2 has a better secondary" isn't decisive on your part? lol

you could even look at :

ST: Izzo vs Slater
PR: Troy vs Jules.
OC: Charlie vs McD
DC: RAC vs Patricia (gimme Flores over Patricia)

Only one of your four is even a debate in my mind. Troy is one of my all time favorite HEART players, right up there with Grogs, Hannah, TB, Vrabel, and Bruschi. But he had no moves like Jules.

Edit: for those who couldn't understand the bold,:
Jules as stated.
Slater-my god , the nyjfl created a ST position in probowl voting solely because of him.
McD after last 3 games, will be first coordinator to have an "offensive gameplan (series)" inshrined to go w the BB D gameplan. Weiss was nice, but no contest..
Romeo/Rocketman/Flores- does anyone truly know how much is them and how much is the mentor.

I'm taking Pats V1 in a 3 game sweep. The defense was much better.

I just think that Dynasty 2 can win more different ways that’s Dynasty 1. The real winner is here the fan.

I said it was better.

You are saying it isn't on it's best day.

You were more decisive.

:p

So we are discussing degrees of decisiveness? How very...Andyish of us
May the football gods take mercy on our souls

I was 1/2 kidding.

Yes- I was also being decisive.

Picking the winner of the 5 game series I was not.

I was 1/2 kidding.

As was I, which if you think about is decidedly un-Andyish. As was the lame azz that threw an unsupported disagree at my post. What's the point of a discussion like this if we do not...discuss?

I think people forget the utter dominance of the 2003 and 2004 teams. They ended the 2003 campaign winning 15 in a row, and started the 2004 season winning 6 in a row. That is a 21 game winning streak (Which is perhaps more impressive than the attempt at the perfect season in 2007).

Factor in the 2 losses in 2004, they were 32-2 from October 5 2003 till super bowl on January 2005. That is almost unprecedented.

With that being said, I think with all the rule changes, it is hard to determine which team would have the edge if competing against each other. Probably the team playing in its era's rules would win. That is a testament to Belichick and Brady having the ability to adapt as needed.
