Patrick Chung injury

Reminded me of the Harrison injury. We got confused for a while after that at the back with miscommunication.

It is amazing what he turned into.
I was wondering whether others noticed the parallels between Chung (yesterday) and Rodney (2003-season Super Bowl):
  • defensive backs (safeties, in fact)
  • break right arm in second half of Super Bowl
  • Pats go on to win
  • return to sidelines at the end with arm in cast
  • red white and blue confetti
Check out the photos!

He is a warrior. I like how he turned down the cart (which he could do, you know, since it was an arm injury ;)). I think that was pretty inspirational to his teammates.

Nice to have Duron Harmon as a 'backup'.

Dont know if they showed this on the TV, but I looked over at the sideline at one point in the second half and Chung is standing by himself but standing closer than any other player to the sideline. BB sort of standing off pacing by himself walks up to him and just gives him a hug. Really tells you how much Chung means to this team and to BB.

He's a unique player in how he was sort of a bust, fans all wrote him off, he went to another team, and then he came back (and it took us a while to regain that respect for him). Nobody else has really had that path with us (I wouldn't say Deion Branch did for example). Now you can make a case he belongs in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

Yea, when I saw Harmon come on I instantly felt optimistic.

Yeah, but how deep are the Pats in the secondary? Chung's down and Harmon doesn't miss a beat.

Wizwor used to have the young Chung = Harrison signature, I think he called it spot on.

So if this injury occured in week 2 or 3, would he have been out for the season? IR?
