Not Brady’s Best Game...

I dismissed the idea that the Rams defense was today’s version of those Giants defenses that stymied Brady and the offense.

Couldn’t have been more wrong. They were.
Yes but the difference is that the defense gave up yards in 07 and 11. Last night they tightened up.

This was a complete reversal from last year's superbowl.. the defense carried the team pitching a virtual shutout and the offense did what they needed to at the end of the game to put it away

They need to get Brady some legitimate outside deep threats tho, Gordon would have been a thing of beauty in that offense today with those 1 on 1 shots instead of Hogan who went 0 catches on 6 targets, including one that deflected up into the air for an INT

They need to draft a WR and they need to get a solid veteran in FA or trade.. Gronk could retire, Edelman is getting up there in age, Hogan has 1 year left and not someone you really need to have in the long term picture.. someone like Calvin Ridley would have helped a lot in this offense and help Brady through his last couple years here

Sony was a huge pickup, can't wait to see how Wynn has recovered from his injury and see if he can be the player they think he can be..
If they don't trade for Brown, which I realize is probably as likely as Belichick going on Dancing with the Stars, the first draft pick should be a WR. No question about it. The second pick should be a DT; then a TE, whether or not Gronk retires. It still boggles my mind that we just won the Super Bowl with Edelman and no one else at WR.

Yeah after we just tied them for most Super Bowls and passed them for most postseason wins, I doubt they’d do us a solid and trade AB. I bet they’re pretty salty

I think our defense made Goff look like that. He was pressured all game, but when he had time he made plays, the two balls to cooks that could have resulted in tds were real good throws, but our dbs factored greatly in their incompletions. He had time to throw those passes.

The D played lights out, do doubt. But Rivers and Mahomes looked waaaay better against our D than Goff did.

Small sample size but Our defense has given goff a really hard time in 2 games. The first one was against Jeff fisher’s rams but still.

The defense still needs help IMO. That's where the #32 pick should go. We still had trouble stopping the run at times this year and Mahomes just shredded us in the 4th quarter a few weeks ago. Our focus should be on trying to figuring out how to stop KC's offense because quite frankly, the AFCCG was the real super bowl.

I would say you're probably right. But one can dream...Even FB-feed Brown, I think, could keep himself on the straight-and-narrow for one year at least, long enough for Brady to put up another 2007-like season.

If Brady has the talent at receiver, they probably would have aired it out last night.

Would you be surprised if bill trades down?

I thought Brady had a great playoff run. Team averaged over 30 points a game. He threw for over 300 yards a game and the team seemed to always score whenever they needed it most. The fact that they ran it in on most of their TD drives's vs passing made his stats look worse than reality.

I remember thinking through 3+ quarters that the offense and Brady just looked out of sync. And while some of that is on Brady, it’s also partially on the depth of his weapons, and on a great, well executed game plan by the Rams. And as frustrating as it was to watch, I ALWAYS felt like, eventually, Brady and Josh would adjust and get points at the end.

What I didn’t expect was the D to maintain their play for 60 minutes. They deserve a ton of credit for this one. But that’s football. We all know Brady deserved to win last year, and the D failed him.

I view this game as the mirror image of the AFCCG. You look at the scoreboard and think the D sucked and Brady won the game himself. And while he deserves the bulk of the credit in the end for that one, the D played amazing for the first half to allow the offense to get its rhythm going. Same here, while the D gets the big prize, it all means nothing if Brady doesn’t keep plugging and finally get the TD. Team game, always.

I am not one to really defend Brady, I am usually fairly harsh in judging him. But, give me a break. How many times have you seen a defense look like man-to-man pre-snap, even to the extent of showing man when there is motion and then swtich to zone post-snap?

That defense was ridiculous! Huge kudos to wade philips and the rams defense, they really did something I've never seen before.

No need to move on. Hes a WR 3,4. Keep him there hes fine.

Just because hes not a WR2 you dont cut him

I agree with the 2nd part.

I’d have Dorsett at 3/4 and find a better option. Keep Cord at 5/swissarmyknife

I trust the coaches through, if they keep Hogan at 3/4, I’m not going to complain.

I think people are missing something here. Ther Pats offense had 407 yards total, Brady had 262, ground game had 154.

While I was disapointed that they didnt score more the Pats Offense had drives that gained a lot of yards and controlled that part fo the game, owning almost 20 minutes of the first half. Against that defense that was a win. When they needed those final 10 points to seal the deal they got it done.

They took what was given to them, was it perfect....nope....but that drive for the touchdown was surgical....

Maybe you should get your head out of your rectum and give the Rams D some credit. You’re obviously one of those fans that expects perfection every game

Or one of those fans that simply refuses to understand that there are highly qualified coaches and coordinators on other teams as well.

Honestly, I knew Phillips would come up with something crazy for tonight. He’s given Brady trouble in the past. I didn’t expect it to be quite as effective as it was but in the end they did what they needed to do.

What defines greatness? Consistently (more than anyone else EVER) making the clutch throws under intense presure on the biggest stage in the world. Its not about your passing % or even interceptions...its about SB WINS. Anyone who tries to belittl;e his overall performance last night does not understand how difficult it is to come out on top on the biggest stage. Brady DID IT YET again WHEN he had to. You do not get style points. It is a binary outcome...you either win the Lombardi or you don't. The haters are pathetic losers and that mindset will always keep them down.

6 SB Wins OVER 18 years, more SB wins than any other player in history. Oldest QB to ever win a SB...speaks to his consistent poise, leadership and greatness

STATISTICS ARE FOR LOSERS

If Brady wasn’t so good at getting rid of the ball so quick that game could of been ugly.

Not many QB’s could of withstood that gameplan and pressure the Rams put out there. We were lucky to have him back there.
So glad they recovered that fumble btw.

I saw some of what the giants did in 2007 and 2011. The only difference is that our defense showed up too
