In his post game interview he said he will need to take some time off and think about his future.

He has been a key guy, him being on the field helps everyone, the run game, JE11 and of course Brady.
Also when Gronk is in the game LB and cbs have to consistently watch for him.

It would be a huge blow to lose him, but again I wouldn’t want his health to be jeopardized. I want the guy to be able to walk away from the sport and have a nice remainder of his life.

Gronkowski to decide future 'in a few weeks'

Can’t blame him if he wants to call it a career. Would love him back though on a deal appropriate to his caliber of play going forward. Just not sure a reduced role both play and financial wise is something he’d be interested in.

What better way to end a career. 3 time SB champ. Huge reason for us getting that 6th ring. Ride off into the sunset big guy. You deserve it. Or come back on a discount. I'd love that too!

I said it earlier in the GDT but Gronk is actually in a sweet spot right now. He’s not great enough to double cover now and he usually isn’t but he’s still too good for single coverage. So when you need him late in the game, he’s there.

He will be back. Finally healthy he looked like the Gronk of old.

I love the dude and wanted him to hang it up last year, our success be damned.

It be very nice, he has done what Gates, Gonzalez and few other tight ends failed to do, he redefined the position, he is once in a lifetime generation type of player, he can block, he can catch the ball, and he plays the game at 100mph!
I still remember his rookie season, guy was so reckless I was actually scared for his health, but each time he kept popping up.

Gronk no longer needs to prove anything to us. He has helped this franchise for a long period of time and if he decides to hang it up then so be it, I’ll be happy for him and his family.

Whatever he decides I love the guy. One of my favorite players of all time.

Multiple back injuries with surgeries.
Acl surgery,
Metal plates in his arm.
Achilles issues and a bulging disc this season.

That’s a lot of wear and tear and if he calls it quits whk can blame him. Gave everything he had.

Yeah and that big thing he wears around his arm.

Guy will make a huge tv personality, he is still a kid and that is why we all love him.

I want him to return but I wouldn’t blame him if he chooses to hang it up. I just don’t want douchenozzle kelce to become the face of TEs in the league.

I think he’s gone. He just got excited that he won, and that he played a big part this postseason. He won’t be alone. DMac (13M+), Slater (age 34), JMac and maybe someone we don’t expect could all decide to ride off with the ring...

When you start thinking about retirement you are pretty much already retired. Sounds more like he didnt want to a) give a kneejerk reaction born out of the moment and b) not take away from the team winning a title with a retirement announcement.

He would be really dumb to quit before Brady. Hey gronk...!!. Get treatment. Keep working out !! He should just be the man at his craft. He was absolutely the stud out there. Making great plays in the biggest game in the world.

"...New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowskireiterated after the Super Bowl that a decision on his future will come "in a few weeks or so."<===== This is spin. Everyone thinks about the future.

"You know, I haven't thought about that decision at all. Tonight's the night to celebrate with my team ." <= Actual answer.

Stash him on IR and bring him back for playoffs. Cut him give him 3m for each game he will play and that is it.

Retirement would be a welcomed move for Gronk he's a shell of his former self. The Patriots need two solid outside Receivers. Edelman should be extented he can play until he's 35. That's said Gronks in good spirits this is the best way to go out he has his health.

Between T.J. Hockenson, or Noah Fant, I could really see the team finding a decent long term replacement for Gronk with our 32 pick.

Before the game I was in the 'this is his last game' camp.

I think he's back though. As long as they keep winning, I think Brady & Gronk keep coming back. Next time the Pats lose or fail to make the SB, I can see both of them hanging it up. There's a difference when the result of the hard work is feeling bad vs feeling great.

Gronk should pull a late career Roger Clemens, and the Pats should be okay with it. He should show up to training camp/ practice, but not play the first 4 games. Followed by playing maybe 50-70% of snaps the next 8 games, and then turning it on at the end. I know this isn't how BB thinks, but it would probably be the best outcome for the Pats -- have him ready for more playoff games rather than regular season.

Gronk - Stay in shape and come back week 9 next year.
