Patriots skip walk-through, invite friends and family to stadium

BB: ““It’s fun to see them having fun,” Belichick said. “They’ve earned it. You’ve gotta earn your way here; there is no other way to get here. So it’s very satisfying to see them having fun and enjoying each other and having the camaraderie that comes with getting to the game.”

Hi Lane! :D

Me too.

Just feels like things are lined up.

Won't know for sure until kickoff.

That's true but, again, I'm having GREAT feelings. To see the team loose on media day, and Belichick giving the guys an extra day off before the game says a lot about them going into the game.

How interesting that it’s actually Groundhog Day because I feel a sense of deja vu reading these posts. It feels like every year people read something into how “loose” the Pats are before the big game and then it starts and everyone melts down when the team starts slowly.

Could definitely see a scenario where we come out loose while the they are overhyped, using all their energy early

Just can’t make a big mistake with a turnover by being overly loose and let that keep their swagger and adrenaline going. Also, not just running it assuming we can put physical them early on. Creativity in the run game, maybe some varied screens, and some shots to Gronk early.

not sure why they wouldn't want to go over every last detail. How does BB know every single player understands exactly what they have to do. Practice never hurts,..

I see what you're saying but I'm sure this team prepared IMMENSELY for this game. It's a Patriots trademark. I'm sure they went over everything, again and again and again. I remember studying for big finals in college, at some point, you trust yourself and say, "I'm ready" or in this case "we're ready." I love that BB had them out there with their families, it's the Super Bowl, enjoy it! They're all-business and laser-focused for this one, but they need to be relaxed and calm too. How often does a team go to a Super Bowl? (Rhetorical, I know the Patriots go quite often lol)

I don’t disagree but this is what I posted in another thread:

The last practice was tough and fast with a lot of reps I thought I read, so balancing it out now. We already did a walkthrough on Thursday as well, I feel like they have a lot of stuff already installed last week and some extra stuff this week where better to not add any mental fatigue at this point.

Plus we know this team comes out focused regardless, doesn’t mean they play well for 60 mins and we still are a flawed team, but we don’t need any extra walkthroughs or mental reps at this point.

Yeah, but when has Belichick given the players an extra day off a day before the actual game. Of all games, the Superbowl...that says a lot

Probably because it's mostly vets on our team that been here the last year or longer, if most of our top guys were young or never been or have the experience most of our guys do I'm sure that wouldn't be the case. For most it's their 3rd SB in a row and some were here for 49.

Most of our guys already know what time of the year it is and are older and could use the extra rest.

It would be interested if BB and the coaching staff paid extra attention to the Rams this season expecting they were the favorites to make the SB...
