I looked ... I know it's there for the OP when you make a poll ... unless Ian took it away???

I clicked on the "Allow the results to be viewed without voting" option for the poll, but it might be that you can see how others vote only if you don't vote. Sorry, I can't do anything more from my end.

We tried ... maybe one will confess.
Pretty sure the option is only there when starting a poll then goes away once posted.
probably JetFan for 1 of them ... not that I blame him.

I like our odds. I give us a 66.6% chance.

I just don't think their d line takes over the game. Donald won't be allowed to beat us and Suh while good is more of a run blocker. Fowler is a good DE but not as good as ones we've already stopped.

They can't cover TEs and White will get his as will our WRs when matched up properly. I think we find ways to run at least semi effectively which is all we need.

On defense I think we will do well. We'll get enough pressure on Goff and their run game won't take over. Running plays with the same personnel 95% of the time isn't how you beat BB imo.

Even when you mix it up it just isn't enough variety. I think this is a game where our D in the end half will be a force. Once we've seen what they do for 2 quarters the same kind of things won't work for the next 2 and that will be a problem.

That's the spirit! That's what I'm talking about!
I've written at length about being quick but being ferocious helps us too!

There has been a rally cry on our team the past 4 games. They have been rallying around the fact that people were doubting them and a Play for Tom mentality. They are clicking and peaking at the right time.
There will not be a fractured psych like last year with the Butler benching and a distrust right before the game. They are firing on all cylinders. They are healthy. They are hungry. They have trust in the system. It will be close for three quarters but we pull away in the forth after their Defense gets tired and their Offense feels the pressure.

I think this lines up well, but do the Rams have a chance to come out and punch us in the face with the run game? Cowboys were 5th against the run and got run all over (albeit on the road). That’s leaving me on the fence between very confident and moderately confident.

I hope we get the ball first, score for once and make them play from behind.

I have two concerns: turnovers and officiating. Courtesy of Pat Kirwan on SiriusXM radio today, the Rams are 7-0 in games officiated by Super Bowl referee Jon Parry while the Patriots are 9-5 with the flag fest in Pittsburgh being his last Patriots’ game. You remember how flags just happened to be thrown whenever the Patriots got into the red zone that day.

You would think the NFL fixers would lay low a little after their New Orleans heist letting things blow over. But, these are the Patriots. Who’s going to complain if the Patriots and their fans get screwed out of a Super Bowl win? Who cared last year when the NFL changed the rules for the Super Bowl and awarded a touchdown to Corey Clement on a play that by the rules on the books should have been an incompletion.

There were a half dozen bad calls or no calls that favored the Chiefs in the 2nd half of the AFCCG which really were what got the Chiefs back in that game, but all the NFL’s media partners wanted to talk about after the game was the clear offsides by Dee Ford and the roughing call on Chris Jones while ignoring completely that a Chief DB was practically taking a piggy back ride on Julian Edelman on the same play.

A lot of money changed hands to get the NFL back in the LA market, and the NFL is desperate to see it work. I hope I’m just being paranoid. I guess we’ll see.

I think we need at least a turnover. Ty law got a pick six last time. Not saying we need a pick six but just one turnover. Last year we needed one and the defense couldn’t get it

I get the hesitation. I have it also. We have won and lost in these games. It creates uncertainty. We can put out several what ifs. I just feel a chemistry thing going on with this team the last 4 or so games that I have not felt in a while. We have the talent and now a strong chemistry and war cry. I do not think we will roll. But I do believe we will be resilient and beat them

Im confident this will come down to the trenches.

Shaq-Thuney and our C against Wade Phillips D-Line

Our Front Seven against their Running game

Classic football, adjusted for the Passing games of nowadays.

Well, the Pats will move the ball on Phillip's defense and I'm pretty confident about that (hasn't changed his scheme in 30 years??? Tom Brady has an interesting history vs Wade Phillips defenses ) . I think this Pat's defense is much improved over last year's and they'll get some stops. If they're up at halftime I think there's a 80+ % chance of winning, but if the Rams can stay in it and make a few plays it drops to 50/50.
If the Pats execute and don't turn it over I think they win it easy. I feel pretty confident that this team is highly focused.

I was very confident last year. This year I'm neutral. A play here and there changes all of these Brady Super Bowls, and who knows which team will make that play this year.

I feel like we could get an unexpected blowout victory.

The Pats usually lose to quatterbacks that are more "loose" and "too dumb to fail" like Eli and Nick Foles and Joe Flacco.

Against guys that are too technical and prone to overthinking and choking, I like our chances, because usually the Pats win when they rely on their opponents making dumb mistakes and overthinking stuff, like Matt Ryan and Pete Carroll.

Goff and McVay fit into that mold, so I could see a scenario where they choke and the Patriots beat them.

I go 34 - 17.

Haven’t been this nervous since SB XLIX.

Hoping for the same outcome (though not under the same nail biting, heart stopping circumstances preferably).

My confidence so far

Chargers Game: "We can legit lose this game, I expect a close win but we have to play great"
Chiefs game: "It's a loss. Most likely will end up like Denver 2015, homefield will cost us the trip to the SB"

But after the two actual outcomes from this game, I am extremely confident.

Beyond 2001/2004 @ Pittsburgh AFCCG, can't think of another more impressive/improbable AFCCG win for the Pats going into the SB.

The whole vibe of the Rams just doesn't seem like a SB team to me. Youngest (despite great) coach in the league, got to the game based on the worst non-call in playoff history, second year after saying **** you to St. Louis and going to LA where no one gives a **** and a squad that feels more like a collection of random talent (questionable characters at that..Suh, Peters ,etc.) than a "team" to me. Our fan-base will also outnumber their "fanbase".

While the Pats seem as locked in/focused as ever. There's absolutely no way they're taking this team for granted after last year. Also Gronk having two weeks (and a great game to follow up) to heal knowing this will most likely be his final game, I think he's going to be GRONK for one more time.

On the other hand, the three games I had the most pre-game confidence in (Giants, Giants II, Eagles) we lost, buuuuut you know.

All stories like that are tired, trite, and annoying.

As I'd hope everyone knows, Parry's crew is not officiating the game. Parry is the head of an "all-star" team of officials.

So any stats about what Parry's crew did during the regular season are irrelevant and meaningless to this game, other than perhaps flags personally thrown by Parry.

I think the QB matchup is hugely in favor of the Pats. I think Goff is going to be a liability in this game, so much so that I dub him Rex Goffman. I think the Rams need a ton to go right in order to win so they don't have to rely on him.

Regards,
Chris

This Patriots team is pretty ****y. They were confident for both Giants SBs, the Eagles SB last year as well. They were not super confident about either Seattle or the Rams. Don't know their confidence level for Carolina, Eagles #1 or Atlanta.

I must admit: I would be very confident if the Patriots were not perhaps verging on overconfidence.
