That has to be the last pro bowl

He is just amazingly bad. He’s not a jerk like some commentators... just sooooo bad.
It’s funny.

Tony Romo always gotten a bad rap as an NFL player, yet has absolutely killed it ever since becoming an analyst. His public perception has soared.

Witten meanwhile was always seen as the stabilizing, smart veteran player in the Cowboys lockeroom.

But now, ever since joining the media... he is perceived as a complete doofus who can’t even get the right words out of his mouth.

The public perception of both players has completely flipped.

Pretty sure there are millions of reasons why..

Agreed though, today was less physical than a gym class flag football game

Get rid of it, let the guys have a great trip, activities, fan meet and greets .. Just no game.
I've said this before: send them to Hawaii for a televised awards event including film clips of each player's season highlights. Maybe have a goofy skills competition for fun. The game has devolved into a joke and needs to end. I didn't watch a second of it this year and couldn't believe it also was broadcast on live radio today.

Here's what I think they should do. Take the highest ranked college team and the NFL team with the worst record that year and pit them against each other. Play the game in a huge college market. I dont know what the quality of the product will be, but it sounds like a fun experiment.

While true inter-league play would be fun (NFL v. college, NFL v. CFL, etc.) there is zero chance the NFL would put any team in a game they might lose to a non-NFL entity.

For some reason they don't even try.

A long time ago the games use to be decent. Plus they were after the Superbowl

If you don't like the product, don't watch. I don't. Many here don't.

The NFL will continue it as long as there are sponsors and enough of an audience.

Alos, why should a player risk getting hurt?

The NFL team would murder the college team.

Why would any of the two be more serious about the game than the participants at the pro bowl ? The problem is that there is no incentive to risk injury in those exhibition games.

Heres my solution

Each team from the winning conference gets 1 entree into a lottery that give 14 extra draft picks in the upcoming draft.

2 picks in each round from round 1-7. 14 extra draft picks in total, with 4 teams getting nothing at all.

Now that would instantly make it competitive.

They need to give these guys something to play for. $1 million to each player's charity of choice or something if they win. $500k I don't know
I’d prefer they don’t play at all. Why have guys get hurt for a meaningless game?

And Witten's issue is he might sprain his brain?

I always viewed the pro-bowl as nothing more than a consolation price for all those who put effort throughout the season, but fell short to make it to the Superbowl - just to make them feel better about themselves and life.... basically, Losers' trophy for losers' scrimmage.

MLB made is more interesting as home field advantage for the World Series is a nice prize.

Not sure how they can generate any interest... when I tuned in Alvin Kamara was playing defense and that was enough for me.

It reminds me of when I coached minor leagues for a local little league, by the end of the season was tired of hearing, "Can I Pitch??" or "Can I Catch".. so the last couple of games I switched it around and asked who wanted to pitch and who wanted to catch, we had fun. Some parents bytched and moaned about my method.. but the kids enjoyed it.

"AFC players will get $67,000 each for the victory, $8,000 more than the guys who lose the Super Bowl next week in Atlanta. The Pro Bowl losers will get $39,000 each".

Another advantage of being a Patriots fan, our players aren't typically appearing in the Pro Bowl as they play the next week.

Or, they just lost a game the previous week and then I have less interest in watching the game. Either way, I pretty much never tune into it. The Skills competition is far better viewing than the game.

They play the game because it gets better ratings than most NBA playoff games. As has been noted, this will continue until the ratings take a nosedive.

I forgot the Pro Bowl was this weekend. Too bad, because I have enjoyed watching some of the skills competition in the past. It's been years since I watched even part of a Pro Bowl game and decades since I watched an entire Pro Bowl game.

If they're afraid of getting hurt they should just not play. It's such a dumb thing to be worried about honestly. Blown out of proportion. Maybe they could sign something saying if they get hurt the NFL has to pay them franchise tag money for the games they miss. There you go, problem solved
