How do the Patriots Matchup with the Rams?

Rams are loaded offensively. Woods and Cooks can take the top off any D. Their TE is a stud too. Obviously they got Gurley and an all pro line. Patriots defense are facing an offense just as deadly as the Chiefs were.

On defense, they got Talib back. He is one heck of a corner. Got out work cut out for us in Atlanta.

I will only say that I think the term 'stud TE' doesn't fit with them. They have 2 virtually JAG young TEs. Everett had the best game of his career against the Saints thanks to one big catch but let's not over state the player he is. Both him and Higbee are not really factors in the passing game.

I would love to say the Patriots mystique will impact this game, but that is what I thought about Philly making a SB and having to face the SB 51 miracle comeback Pats.

Pats need to run the ball as they have been doing to set up Brady. The D needs to play even better than it has . (and though KC scored 31, the D played impressively mostly)

I feel like if the Pats can get a two score lead in this one we get get our first comfortable Super Bowl winning margin.

Foles played the game of his life. He will never equal that playoff run again and played well over his ceiling.

Goff is an ok QB. He doesn't have the escape factor that Mahommes does. We will be able to successfully run that cover 0 or 1 man scheme against him and make plays in the backfield. I don't see the rams winning this. I can't remember the last time a wade Phillips D gave Brady trouble. He plays a lot of 2 high zone. Brady eats zone for breakfast.

Wade Phillips was the coordinator for Denver in 2015.

Goff seems to play well when he can get on the move and when he can throw deep. I think if we try to keep him in the pocket and try to get him to throw it short, he’ll struggle.

Good point. I was wrong about the tight end. But their offense is scary good.

It absolutely is. Also, it isn't like we had a good chance to watch them much this season. If I was only judging by the last few games I got to see I would have assumed they had very good TE play.

Yup. And Peters is overrated to me. And the LBs and safeties are not otherworldly. LA relies on its stellar DL bigly.

Talib looked tentative with contact in that game. Color me less than impressed overall with Rams

The Broncos Front 7 was significantly better than the Rams Front 7 if only for the fact Denver had Linebackers.

One of whom was Von friggin' Miller who had an insane night that game.

Wade Phillips D gave Brady trouble in the 2015 AFCCG.

Oh yeah, but that was the year Von Miller injected a coktail of uranium, meth, hgh, and dark matter directly into his heart. That was less Wade Phillip's and more that PED monster that never showed up that dominant again. Along with a pretty incredible secondary. He doesnt have that guy that single handedly took over the offensive lines in the playoffs. Without a guy hopped up on who knows what, when did his D give us trouble?

whose skillet is very different than Thomas', is a totally different game.

Yeah, Edelman is an iron skillet guy - well-seasoned, tough, and can be used everywhere. Thomas is more of the anodized type, sure, it's no stick, but warps way too easily.

Rams roll 41-17
Did I miss your apology? You posted before the Kansas City game that our defense sucked and we would lose big time. I don't use the ignore feature because I'm amused by the ****** who do not understand the impact of social media.

Aaron Donald - we have to somehow stop him, as he could dominate the game.

Run game - Stop Gurley and Anderson

We're going to exploit Aaron Donald's greediness. He loves to beat you with split-second timing and blazing speed. I'm surprised NO didn't bait him with a hard count, or at least wham block him enough to make him question the wisdom of one-gapping so aggressively.

This is where Dante becomes very valuable to us- he's going to devise a complex scheme of blocking Donald, and our OL and TE's have the IQ to execute it. Donald is never going to figure out who's going to blindside him, and that's going to make him turtle or at least become discouraged.

Here's a good primer:

You'd think from some of these posts the Rams were the greatest team of all-time, with an 85 Bears defense and the Greatest Show on Turf offense.

Truth is, the defense is much less than the sum of its parts and the offense has struggled as Goff has struggled. He has not looked very good the second half of the season, and he looked pretty mediocre in New Orleans.

Their coaching staff is good, but I don't think this team matches up well with the Patriots in any aspect. The only part that scares me is their offensive line. Contrary to what the fantasy gurus believe, Gurley's nothing special (even Rams fans will tell you that) but he gets holes you can drive a pickup truck through, and Goff can kill you if he gets enough time.
