There will be a day that Father Time comes for Tom Brady. But until he hangs them up, why why WHY would any self-respecting Patriots fan give up?

I mean, people were ****ing giving up tonight after the second interception and we were UP by 3 at the time. Holy ****. Thank goodness this team is not as mentally-fragile as those guys. They would have crumbled before the national anthem.

This isn't about calling people out though. This is a reminder of who TOM ****ING BRADY is. And why you never, ever, ever count him out. Remember...

Super Bowl XLIX: Brady leads the largest 4th-quarter comeback in Super Bowl history, down 10 against the generation's greatest D. At least, it was the largest one until...

Super Bowl LI: Brady comes back down 28-3, trailing by 19 to start the 4th quarter, which then becomes the largest comeback in the history of the Super Bowl.

Not enough?

Which one of the 35 4th quarter comebacks should we talk about? Which one of the 44 game-winning drives will convince you to stop giving up early?

What about last year's AFCCG trailing the Jaguars and their #2-ranked defense by 11? Or the 2014 divisional round game where we trailed Baltimore by 14 TWICE, and overcame it both times to win?

What about November 24, 2013 when we trailed Denver 24-0 and came back to win? Or the 2011 team trailing the Bills 21-0 in the last week of the season, only to run off the next 49 points and win in a blowout?

Heck, even when we lose, we almost never get blown out and usually give ourselves a chance. Against the Giants in 2007, Brady led the team down the field finally to take the lead late, only to watch the D give up the game-winning score. Or the 2012 49ers game where we trailed 31-3, then rattled off 28 straight points to tie it up before giving up a kickoff return and eventually losing.

This team is resilient. This team is tough. This team has snatched victory from the jaws of defeat countless times. How many more will it take before you don't turn off the TV just because they're only up 3 points?

My guess is it's mostly the younger fans who came around after the winning started who give up at the drop of a hat. Not sure how any true football fan counts TB12 out til the final whistle.

I never give up, but I never can make myself to BELIEVE....

Dunno why.....it's all crazy to me...

I had to leave the game thread because of the hand wringing about the redzone INT.. Some people can only focus on the negative even when there's still a lot to be positive about.. Oh well, can't please everyone.

Enjoy the ride because this run will never be duplicated. Period.

I weened off of THC and Kratom last week because I was so tired on Monday I didn't work out.

But OP is right. I shouldn't give up my drugs. I should keep using them and never quit. Brady wouldn't quit.

I just love how the book keeps getting written. Another epic chapter was added tonight. A bit different from the others in that the other team answered and we had to essentially do it twice.

From a QB standpoint, any of those recent wins you mentioned (Seattle, Baltimore, Jags, Falcons, Chiefs) would be the career highlight for almost any other player. Not Brady, it's just another entry in the GOAT ledger. These are exciting and incredible.

It's fine if you don't "believe". Certainly there have been times where we have come up short, and "believe" implies certainty that we'll win every time, so you'll get burned sometimes. But I agree: don't ever, ever give up.

Meh...being negative/chicken little during the intense game window is a natural defense mechanism of all sports fans. When something bad happens, we naturally flip back in our minds to painful losses. No sense beating yourself up about it or calling your fan hood into question.

I said something to my son tonight and I think it raises a good question...

Has the 2nd half of this dynasty (2014+) surpassed the first half 2001-2004?

Three straight SB, 4 in 5 years and 8 straight AFCCG is absolutely insane.

That's understandable. And we've all done it at some point.

But this team has proven they deserve the benefit of the doubt. They consistently compete regardless of the situation.

The Butler interception came after an incredibly bad bounce, and all hope looked lost after Hightower tackled Lynch at the goal line. If that 2014 team was made up of fans from the game day thread, they would have ran to the locker room crying after that catch was made.

I think part of it is that people think we need to be perfect in order to succeed, and that's simply not true, not in football, not in life. Last night, we lost the turnover battle 0-2, as well as failing to convert on a 4th-down, and gave up a 14-0 lead on the road to the #1 team in the conference, but still found a way to make enough plays to win.

We have been absolutely spoiled as fans for the greatest dynasty in the history of professional sports. The least we can do is give them a bit of our faith.

You are not wrong. But watching a game is filled with emotion and irrational feelings, overreactions, etc. So while many would agree with your reasoning, it’s just a natural knee jerk reaction to act like a spoiled toddler who demands unrealistic perfection. For many people (not ME, of course, lol). Just my $.02.
