I remember the 2001 Pats team - weren't they 5-5 after going 5-2? (around the time Bledsoe was told he lost his starting job) Anyhow, if memory serves, they were 5-5, coming off a close loss to the Rams at home. And subsequently they played the Saints, which started their season ending 6 game win streak.
I'm not saying Sean McVay is Mike Martz - but remember at the time Martz was this "offensive genius" who was going to continue the Rams dynasty for years to come, which he helped built. Like I said, I'm not writing McVay off, but I think the media et al are being too quick to jump on the bandwagon. He took over a talentedly stacked team with little rebuilding. I'd rather to form a proper opinion on him 2 years from now.
As for the Rams - it was only after week 2 when everyone was calling them the best team in football. Like the '01 Rams team, despite the weak division they're in, they had a pretty tough schedule.
