Game Thread: Rams @ Saints

Tough non-call but the Saints offence wasn’t very good today. They let the Rams hang around when they should have buried them.

I hope that ref gets eaten by sharks starting with his b*lls on his vacation in Tahiti (with his bribe bonus).

Payton deserved to lose that after that series despite the non DPI call. Kill the clock!

Embarrassing for the NFL. Saints ripped off by horrible no call. Decided the game. Goodell should be ashamed. Field Judge or Line Judge blew it. #OfficialOnTheTake

There were bad calls throughout against the Saints. The obvious hold on Ginn Jr at the beginning of the fourth. I'm just surprised the league went with the Rams. It must've been part of the deal with moving them to LA.

There won't be "what about Brees' legacy?!" hot takea but boy this game was not his finest hour. It will get buried under ref complaints but truth is the refs gave him a makeup call in OT and he promptly threw a pick.

Brees had a chance to build his legacy and failed badly. I thought all year he was very overrated and the third most important player in that offense (behind Thomas and Kamara.). Rams doubled down and sold out to stop Thomas, and they were right: Brees couldn’t beat them without Thomas or Kamara dominating the game. None of these guys play at their best in the most pressure packed times except Brady. Sick of hearing about the coaching, system etc. Brady would be hoisting another conference championship trophy right now if he was the QB of that Saints team.

Wow. The league took a virtual certain win away from NO.

Agree, but why did you disagree with Observer's post that said effectively the same thing? Not mad or something just genuinely curious at the thought process.

Heartfelt post incoming. I'm happy the Rams won. My best friend's a Rams fan and it means that even if the Patriots lose tonight I'll have rooting interest in the four hour hellslog that is watching the Super Bowl, and they've been something of a second team for me for a decade or so. And if they win we'll have a great time watching the game. He's been a reluctant Pats fan in the previous Super Bowls for my sake and he's been dreaming of 2001 revenge for nearly two decades (Patriots signing Amendola nearly killed him), so if the Patriots win tonight it'll be a fun experience with my friend which is really what this whole entertainment thing is all about and at worst I can root for and be happy for him. :)

That was the epitome of pass interferance and was obvious, there was nothing ticky tack about running into the reciever. The defender wasn't looking for the ball, the reciever was, and it was out in the open, nothing to block the refs(who should be fired) view.
That wasn't his point. The point is, given what Sean Payton actually did --- if they did call PI, he probably has Brees pass the next two downs anyway.....

Saints got robbed. Hopefully we don't let It be so close that that can happen to us.

That chant they have has the weird effect of REDUCING crowd noise...it’s so rigid. Stupid.

Let's see....32 billionaire owners making more billions every season through the efforts of THEIR 44 million dollar a year exec/employee. This employee's main objective is to KEEP the money flowing, therefore strategic planning is the #1 priority to this man and his organization, the NFL. Mapping out the next 5 to 10 years in this league to MAXIMIZE profits on all levels requires NEW stars to carry the load. Brees T's and Brady jerseys are yesterday's sales prerogative. Today and going forward this is Mahomes/Goff territory. The plan has already been put in place. YOU ALL SAW IT ON DISPLAY TODAY.

I've told all of you thousands of times and you STILL don't see it. The WAY they fix the games is through the referee. It's plain as the nose on your face. It is THE way to impose the narrative you want if you are responsible for moving this league forward and keeping your billionaire masters fat and happy. Clete Blakeman...jeezus krist...THE ref that STOLE a game away with a premeditated FIX call in Carolina...and you think this is all on the level? He just happened to get THIS assignment? Remember this............

Now don’t give up a huge play and we’re talking

We did everything we needed to win the game and we got screwed, but that's business as usual for Saints fans. We're used to this. It's the way things have been since 1967 except for one year when the football gods called off the dogs and let us have one for a change.

Go win it all Pats, I want to see Brady on top of the mountain one more time.

These so called elite refs need to be FIRED

I LOVED your SB win!

Held the ball with a rusher up the gap. It wasn't entirelt his fault, of course, but he's as to blame as Brady was for the strip sack in the Super Bowl.

Not entirely his fault but agree with the Brady PHI comparison, a shared blame.
