They’re writing us off again.

Let them write the Patriots off. That's fine by me.

New England got the 2-seed, and the first round bye. If the Colts can knock off the Chiefs, then the AFCG game is once again through Gillette. I don't fear the Chiefs. I respect them, but this team beat them once, and I believe that they can do it again.

And if New England should lose? Stuff happens. They will start the rebuilding process early, and we will all look forward to next year.

I really want New England to get that 6th Lombardi, but I can accept a loss if it happens. I won't like it, but life goes on.

Losses are part of life. They are disappointing and depressing. They are what they are.

Losing Super Bowls suck.

Going 2-14 is 1000x worse.

Compare that to Manning's last year. 9 TDs, 17 picks and a gift Super Bowl.

And the John Elway Award for being carried by a team over the finish line (and the attendant media ballwashing.)

I think people outside of New England may treat Brady the same way I treated Michael Jordan.

I was a kid when MJ went on is streak. I rooted against him. I thought it would be cool to see David knock off Goliath. SO yes, I rooted like heck for those Suns, Sonics, and Jazz only to have MJ's greatness shut me up. I hated him for it.

Then, funny thing happened, the guy retired and I couldn't do anything but have respect for the guy. I appreciate him more after the fact than when he was playing. I actually have since bought some MJ dvds.

I bet Brady will be more appreciated in retirement than as a player (at least by the people outside of New England).

Back in the early 90s as a young teen, Boston sports were largely terrible. We were in the early to middle stages of the big 4 championship drought, which although only about 7 or 8 years seemed an eternity at that time. So I latched onto the bandwagon that was the Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls. Was great fun watching them win ALL THE TIME. Anyway was watching a big game in HS with a friend and Jordan had a rare off day. He was like 4 for 18 through 3 quarters and my buddy (who hated MJ) was letting me hear it. He was laughing it up....Well the 4th quarter started and wouldn't you know it Jordan hit virtually every shot he took? His classic fadeway Js right in the defenders face over and over again. My buddy shut up and I was now in his face but neither of us were really surprised. He led a comeback and they won the game. He must have scored 20 points in that 4th quarter. GOAT. Brady gives me the same feelings watching him perform his craft.

Sorry if someone already posted this, but this is an epic takedown of the idiotic bleacherreport article item by item:

A ‘Tom Brady Is Too Old’ Take Is Lighting Up The Internet, But It’s Wrong

Also As the article above notes, stats geeks are MORONS. Stats only tell some of the picture. Without a lot of context they can be VERY misleading. It also explains why all the fanboys who worship regular season stats and how high someone can jump or what their 40 time is are simpletons who don't get it.

It's over Johnny...

If this is what decline looks like, I will take it everyday Sunday and everyday. There is no one I want more leading my team than Brady. The day he actually hangs it up will be a sad day, not just for Pats fans but for the league. Right now people do not appreciate him but he is a huge ambassador for the game. The Patriots over the last several years have some of the best TV ratings. People love to hate him and the team and yet they are the biggest draw !
How I love this team !! When he retires I will still be around but it will be very different without seeing # 12 on the field .

Why would they have been sandbagging?

That’s a real question, not an argument.

I believe gronk was being held back to a degree....even if his ability has diminished, he wasn’t targeted nearly as much as he should....3 games to go, time to open things up.....they also slowed James white touches

In some games they simply went away from things that were working like they liked what they saw so they worked on something else.

It’s what I sense.....but that could also be gas pain

This game will be played in the 20’s low 20’s high teens wind chill. Whole different deal than below 40, just sayin.

It wont be rivers that kills em......just sayin

No Jules for 4 games
No cooks
No dola
No Dion
Integrating Cord
Integrating Josh
Re-integrating Jules
Rigamortis Gronk
Allan a big fat zero in the passing game
Integrating Sony
Hogan & Dorsett average
Integrating Burk

Are people actually up his ass for 65% 4300 29tds? 98 rating AT 41 YEARS OLD!?

The fact he threw for what he did is a goddamn miracle.

Great great post RW but surprised you didn't throw a zip zap in there somewhere.

Haven’t visually seen any tangible decline in Brady specifically, but there’s no denying our Patriots Dynasty is finally starting to feel like the aged elder lion.

We definitely don’t intimidate like we did in seasons past. Fan bases think we have to be respected for Brady, Belichick, and two decades of dominance, but finally also see the Patriots as old, talent-depleted and at the end of our line.

I can easily see the remaining teams feeling a similar way.

He has vowed to play until 45.

I just hope Brady has another "all time" game in him... He's at home, team is healthy, so there's no excuses... Sunday's no time like the present for a vintage 24-30-275 and 3 td no pick performance...GO PATS...

I hope he has 3 in him, for now.

I love Michael Hurley.

If they actually think that they will be destroyed here. There are issues with the team but I still think we’re the most dangerous team left even now. We’ve already beat most of the teams that are still alive and kc is sure to blow it because they are no good, streaky bums the Lott of em

What else is new?! Must be Playoff time. Mediots* need click bait and sensationalized headlines, livin rent free priceless.

The day Tom Brady starts throwing wobbly helicopters like Manning did in his final season, thats when I’ll start agreeing Brady is in decline.
