Why can't they make Monday Night Football great again

Have a Patriots game every Monday night.

IMO between the Sunday slate, Thursday game, MNF the market seems to be saturated.. that along with a dearth of talent in the booth it is not fun to watch any more.. when the Pats play it becomes a necessary evil..

When Howard, Dandy Don and Frank were in the booth the game was fun and interesting.. it was a very good combination of talent and entertainment.. IMO they are now trying to overthink it and make the game different than it really is.. they have had some good matchups this year, that one might think help their ratings..

I'm having trouble watching any game that doesn't have the Pats playing, no matter what day or time they're played. Even when I do I don't enjoy them nearly as much as I used to.

The games are being inundated with flags, to the point where even when a big play happens I find myself waiting for a flag to take it away. The PI calls are a complete joke and end up being the biggest contributor to the outcome of games. I find myself yelling at the boob tube more than watching it.

Thankfully we have DVR now so I can just whiz by all of the garbage. I can watch a Pats game in about an hour and a half and not miss a play.

I've seen every crew mnf has ever had.
The single best one guy, regardless of role( play by play or color), was Dandy Don. Hands down.

Remember jake the snake? I liked it better with that 70s crew. Like 76-79

We could make and sell RED ball caps that say:

MAKE MNF
GREAT AGAIN

Tessitore loses his mind over a 9 yard pass. Witten makes no sense and is as stiff as a board. A grown man that calls himself “Booger” is carted up and down the sideline blocking some very expensive seats. It’s a mess and it’s not easy to watch.

There's a real easy way to improve MNF. Take it away from ESPN and give it to a professional network.

Unless the Pats are playing or it's a matchup like KC vs LAR I'm not to bother even starting the game. They start too late and I'm an early riser. They're never going to roll it back because then it's too early for the west coast. If I lived in one of the two western time zones I'd watch the good matchups.

That ESPN crew however makes Criqui and Cross look like world beaters.

The current ESPN crew is a tire fire inside a dumpster fire that's fueled by rancid Arby's roast beef grease runoff, which is pinned under an overturned gas tanker.

What I'm saying is that they're Real Bad. Witten might be the first guy to reduce his Hall of Fame odds by going into the broadcast booth.

Monday night is just not a football night anymore.

Thursday gets in just under the wire because it more or less is the start of the weekend. Friday night highschool ball. Saturday NCAA. Sunday mother of all football days. SNF has the best product imo.

The NFL has rolled it back. Prime time games used to start at 6pm on the west coast. They moved the start time down to what is now 5pm on the west coast to help some what on the east coast. I feel bad for fans for any team on the east coast as they have to wait ALL day for the damn game to start.

They are supposed to start at 8:15-8:20 depending on which night game we are talking about. They always seem to go off a few minutes late but regardless if you have NE playing another east coast team them should start it at 7PM.

A 7pm kickoff would be great! I can see the Sunday night game waiting til 8pm, because the 4:25 game usually doesn't end til 7:30. But on Monday its no excuse. Move it to a 7pm kickoff (or 7:30) and this way more people will watch because they will actually be able to stay up for the entire game.

It's such a disaster. Howard Cosell is rolling over in his grave.
Howard Cosell was terrible. As for MNF, Sunday Night Football usurped it.

Lest we forget BSPN was the company that pushed the Deflategate narrative to the hilt and made Bill Simmons walk the plank for speaking the truth, that Goodell was and is a liar. Now the guy who made Simmons walk the plank has been exposed as a coke addict and has also been made to walk the plank. Karma's a *****!

All their competitors have no problem putting an NFL game on TV and raking in the cash, BSPN can't seem to avoid stepping on their own dingus.

It's so simple: Stop trying so damn hard! Get rid of the dumb ass intro and dumb ass half time show and dumb ass announcer who makes a two yard run off tackle sound like the second coming of ************, and just put on a FOOTBALL BROADCAST!

But no, Bristol has buildings filled with ass clowns whose title is "creative director" yada yada and if they aren't creating something they're getting fired, and they know it.

The only solution is tear everything down and build it up from scratch, but that will never happen.

ESPN underpays for their behind-the-scenes talent. Some good people DO work there, but they quickly leave the toxic environment. The only ones willing to stay and deal with the ******** and low pay are the ones so bad that they can't get a job anywhere else.

Source: Used to live in Bristol. Applied to ESPN in 2002 and laughed at the pay.

All 3 of them sucked in their own kind of way, really; their appeal was created by the desire of the audience to see and hear who would get drunk first, Meredith or Cosell...and also by the Sunday highlights that Cosell would describe ("Look at that little monkey run") during halftime.
