What teams to cheer for…. Here’s the answers

If the seeding stays the same as it is now wouldn't the Patriots play the Texans in the divisional round & the winner of the Steelers vs Chargers Wildcard game goes to KC? I think either of those teams can beat KC in KC & then the AFC Championship game is in Foxboro (assuming the Patriots beat Houston). Isn't that an ideal scenario?
If the seeding stays the same as it is right now, then:
If HOU beats BAL, then divisional games are HOU@NE and LAC/PIT@KC
If BAL beats HOU, then divisional games are LAC/PIT@NE and BAL@KC.

#1 can never play #3 and #2 can never play #6 in the divisional round.

We might be better off with the 2 seed this year if LAC end up the 1 seed. I’d rather face Houston at home followed by going to LA for the AFCCG (be like a home game) or hosting KC. As the 1 seed we’d likely face KC in the divisional.

As the 1 kc would likely be the 2 but whatever they are we get them at home in January.
That doesn’t worry me at all.

I thought we’d be rooting against Seattle, since if they clinch playoff this week they won’t have much motivation to beat KC next week?

Possibly true, but I don't think they'd start resting people in game 15. You are right though that they could lose some edge because the #5 seed would be pretty much assured.

While this is interesting to read, when it comes game time I root for the team I like best. I quit playing fantasy football because it warped my loyalties.

Yes, I see that. AFC Playoff slot #6 is a competition of teams most of us despise: Baltimore, Indy, Miami, Tennessee, Denver (less likely). Hard to hope for any of them to make it, but one will.

I'm hoping that Miami wins out and takes the #6 seed from Tennessee and Indy. Their toughest game is the next one at Minny, but they can do it.

I'd also root for a miracle finish and three wins by the Browns and have them take the AFCN with a record of 8-7-1.

No matter what happens the Pats will be playing teams that they already beat (KC, Houston or Miami) or teams at home that they lost to on the road, like Tennessee.

The Pats have a better shot than some of our own fans give them. As long as they have Brady they have a real chance to win it all.

Agree kinda. But like someone else said you don't want to take 2 weeks off. That being the case winning this week could potentially make them more dangerous too. The pressure would be off and they may be more inclined to go for 2 or do onside kicks.
