Stevan Ridley: Patriots ‘trashed’ me after injury – Boston Herald
“I’m very open and I have to be real: I want this game more than any other game, man,” Ridley told The Herald. “That’s just the bottom line to it. And it’ll be that way from this year until I go in the grave. I’m just that kind of person.”

He didn’t mince words when asked why.

“I was trashed after an injury,” Ridley said. “I’m just going to put it that way. I’m not going to say specifically, but to be a starter for (the Patriots) for four years, to tear my ACL and never get a call back, that’s a tough pill to swallow.”
Ridley indicated the Patriots did not contact him after his contract expired at the end of the 2014 season.

“And now they’re still looking for a running back to try to come in and play — how many running backs have been through there to try to give them some consistency as a quote-unquote first or second down back?” Ridley said. “They’re still looking for it right now. Yeah, it’s very personal. It is.”

I wouldn’t say this is talking sh!t. More like he’s upset how he was treated after his injury. Being treated like trash is a harsh truth with pro athletes.

It’s completely normal to show up someone who thought you can’t do something. Especially in sports.

It will be painful to watch if he gashes the Pats on Sunday.

Riddler was a fan favorite but we are in a good place at running back let's see if he does his best Brandon Bolden I'm hurt game.

Well if Bolden can gush us, then Ridley can do the same to these front 7. I feel Roberts is hurting this defense but BB loves him so much that there is not going to be much improvement going forward.

Saw the O.P.'s thread title. Read it very quickly. The second "l" didn't immediately register in my mind.

Glad I double checked it before clicking on the link.

Maybe he'll cough one or two up on Sunday :D

He’s averaging 2.6 YPC and has played for 7 teams since he left lol (does anybody remember him signing with Vikings and Broncos?)

He was not a very good RB, he blew his knee really bad and his contract expired. There's nothing wrong with the team approach even giving some consideration on how the Patriots usually part ways with players with no mercy.

I didn't even know he was still in this league, he's averaging what, 0.5 yards per carry? He's toast.

This is how I see it ...
When you're a player in the league talk all the crap you wish - I like it.
But when you're a bench jockey ... best to see how the game goes - talk crap after if it goes well.
save you're wad for the game ... like Bolden did - too early then you're shot.

Wasn’t he the RB on our team who loved to dance? I remember a few times he would hit the LOS rear-end first and then fumble the ball.

How’s that Jet Tattoo working out for you Ridley?

Mr Short leash couldn’t stay on the field because he couldn’t hold onto the ball. Being a liability to fumble every time you touch the ball was the real reason he didn’t stay longer. Not the acl. If BenJarvis Green could find a way to stick around and he couldn’t says a lot about his time here.

He's rushed for a grand total of 265 yards in those 4 years, on 88 carries, so 3.0 ypc. Plus he has played on average 5 games per season.

Clearly the Patriots absolutely made the right choice.

That’s what I’m saying. Isn’t he the dude who ran off and got the Jets tattoo? Was he feeling disrespected and hoping for an opportunity, then?

Nice to see that he’s following Tomlin’s lead.

As @fnordcircle said, it was Maroney. He pioneered the dancing style that LeVeon Bell has now made popular.

Ridley was a very decisive runner, getting over 1,200 yards and 12 TD's his first year starting. He had great power and was a pretty sure thing in short yardage/goal line situations. Injuries derailed a once promising career.
