I've been rooting against the Chiefs so far and it would be nice to see them get beat Thursday but I suppose we be should rooting against the Chargers in this case?

My hope for the Chargers is that should they pee their pants as usual in a big spot, they could then have the wherewithal to avenge the loss during a rematch in a potential divisional round matchup and knock off the Chiefs.

I think things are a bit muddy when it comes to the 1 seed, and it would take a borderline miracle for the Pats to get it. So I think the priority (if you believe in the power of your own suggestion having a tangible effect on the universe), should be to root against Pittsburgh and Houston so we can get the 2 seed. And if things fall just right, maybe the 1 seed falls in our laps. Of course, that all goes out the window if we don't win out.

Root for Chargers. AFC West runner up is the #5 seed.

Chargers. I'd rather have to play a road game in L.A. than Arrowhead in the playoffs. Hell, that would probably end up being a home game for the Patriots.

Chargers but I think the Chiefs will win.

Root for Chargers over Chiefs, then Seahawks over Chiefs, then Ravens over Chargers.

*I think.*

Yup, this is the only way to get the 1 seed.

Not outlandish to think the Chiefs will lose to the Chargers and Seahawks, but Baltimore over the Chargers might be asking for too much.

I'd buy a ticket for sure (San Diego based).

Root for the Chargers! The Chiefs have owned them for awhile now. The Chargers are due to turn the tide!

I'm kinda rooting for the Chargers.. I somehow don't think KC will do well at Seattle.

Chargers, we've seen the Chiefs show already. If they get that far I'd love to see a Brady/Rivers AFCCG and a Brady/Brees SB. Gifts from the football gods to some entertaining veteran QB's. The clock is ticking on all 3 of them.

That's what you're going to get!

Exactly this.

That (along with winning out) would be our path to the one seed. Unlikely, but not impossible. None of those games would be considered massive upsets.

It's also in our best interest to root for the Chargers and against the Chiefs because even if we stay locked at 2, the chargers would be a less intimidating 1 seed.

Further (and getting a bit deep), the playoff matchups if we were the 2 and sd were 1 are rather favorable, assuming HOU can win at home in the wildcard round. we would get Houston at Gillette, while the chargers would play the steelers or chiefs. we would then either be @LAC or vs KC or PITT.

Pretty much any way you look at it, it's best if LAC wins tomorrow night.

Why would we root against the chargers?
A chief win means they would have to lose both of their last 2 for us to get the 1 seed.

I have a lot of respect for Rivers so I'll almost certainly be rooting for the Chargers.

Without Hunt, they struggled for a while against Baltimore. They'll struggle against Seattle as well.

I thought there might be more chance of hoping for the two seed now than the one and wasn't sure if the Chargers keep winning they can take that from us and we'd get neither.

1 of the Chiefs or Chargers will be seed 5 (or 6) since they're the same division.

I'm rooting for Chiefs to win and then get upset by the Chargers in the divisional round.
